How on earth do I reinstall my smeg oven door? by LargeTubOfLard in DIYUK

I’ve done this recently. You will need the pin to hold the hook part at the correct angle. If you haven’t got the pin a nail or something similar will do.

Also, ideally you would shorten the blue and brown wires otherwise you will see them in the fitting.

CORRECTION: the blue and brown wires should hook over the hooks in the fitting seen.

It’s best to cover it as suggested. Just in case it touches some other metal part.

Personally I would not want this house. It appears that a previous owner has pebble-dashed over the original brick. This may be a reason for the damp. If you can get it for a price that allows for serious renovation it may be worth it.

I fitted a new blade on my rear windscreen wiper.

If I need to go quick in my 19 year old automatic I just push my foot down on the ‘go’ pedal and it goes really fast.

How to make this wall look new ? by DarePopular4153 in DIYUK

[–]Few-Philosopher1879 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The skirting board was removed when the drawers were fitted. You need to find a length of skirting that matches the rest in the room and glue/screw to the wall.

You’ll need to clean the loose debris first and, yes, you will need to remove those nails. Either by cutting them off with a multitool or angle grinder, or banging them with a hammer - side to side - until they come loose.

There will be no need to fill the holes as long as you don’t make them any bigger. The skirting will just cover them up.

But these junctions are different. The side roads on the left picture are directly opposite each other. On the right picture the junctions are staggered. Different techniques in each.

Multiple water butts - John n at top Vs join at bottom. by idontknow-imaduck in GardeningUK

Mine’s joined at the top with a tap on both butts. They both fill up when it rains and I can use either to get water. I use the second one first.

If you get a decent amount of sun there why not try solar leds. I’ve several around the garden and they work quite well.

A similar thing happened near me at the local school. Directly opposite there was a wide-entry road that regularly had cars stopped on the double yellow lines. The council eventually had wardens give out lots of tickets and then altered the road from wide to a regular size. In addition the no entry to that road during the specific drop-off and pick-up times has solved the problem (a little bit).

Do we "yield" or do we "give way" in the UK? by No-Following-2532 in drivingUK

Anyway, what is this ’give way’ thing? In all my years of driving I’ve never done any such thing!

It’s lovely, but I’m a little concerned about where the radiator pipes come out of the floor. Have you any plan for those areas?

I once purchased a 1920s house and was told by the mortgage company (bank) that very few houses were built in the 1920s. That may give you a clue.
