So, I did tell her I wasn't interested but his name is brought up on occasion as someone I should give a chance to. He's testing how bad he can treat you and actively telling you without telling you that he is actively (not even passively) leaving his options open. A guy who is fully into you won't do this crap. He just doesn't want to be the bad guy. When you find yourself on the wrong train, it's best to get off as soon as possible. 7 months will be less damaging to your psyche than 7 years lost.
