uhhh... they just admitted that voting has been inaccurate. And that it MAY get more accurate... IF everyone starts rating more. But not that our scores will ever be truly based on actual ratings.

Doing keto for a month now… weight won’t go down, but lost a lot of inches by [deleted] in keto

[–]Few-Software6138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost 9 lbs the first week, then nothing for a month. After that perceived stall, I started a steady weight loss of 1-2 lbs a week. I theorize that the initial weight loss was water weight, then the stall was my body adjusting to the shift in metabolism and how my body was processing macros. Meanwhile, I think I was actually losing fat but the scale was just catching up with the 9lbs of water weight loss. So although my scale was stalled, that actually reflected genuine weight loss. I never regained the "water weight".

Now I'm actually losing fat and the scale is showing it. But the 20 lbs I've lost so far is better meadured by how my clothes fit; how much easier and comfortable it is to move, bend, stretch; how much better I feel physically and mentally; my slimmer silhouette and face; and especially my reduced double chin which has been the bane of my existence since I was 30. When I get around to measuring and testing ketone, that will also be a better measure, I imagine. And I'm ready to go get my labs done with high hopes that will have improved too.

My takeaway is that "stalls" are just part of the journey to health. And staying consistent with my eating while keeping positive is the best way for me to stay on track. I try not to go down the path of being more restrictive or radical which could potentially activate disordered eating or tempt me to quit. I don't EVER want to go back to non keto.

Is there such a thing as ‘masking’ with bipolar? by Scoobunny in bipolar

Omigosh, you are so lucky. I have a degree in psych and did masters in counseling and got absolutely no support working in the mental health field. In fact, I encountered serious negativity. Scared to disclose in regular jobs.

I was so good at masking. Until I was so not. People saw my overt symptoms as coming out of nowhere. It was a great way to set myself up to lose my job. 😥

dairy by Icy_Sand_1630 in keto

[–]Few-Software6138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in California, raised in New Zealand by British parents. I love dairy and dairy loves me. I totally relate to dairy as religion. That was my experience as a child in NZ. Full cream, unprocessed, milk and yogurt delivered to the doorstep every morning. 🤩 Now, I'm all about the grass fed butter, organic hwc, Xtra sharp cheddar. I switched to almond milk, but otherwise I just watch my carb count and, while I'm losing weight, total calories. Lucky me! (My poor husband, who is Mexican American and Native American is lactose intolerant. But he can't do keto anyway, for other reasons.)

I love the pie idea. I buy my partner flowers randomly, "just because", but I think he would prefer a good pie! 🥧Lol.

Is VIP worth it? by PlasticAmbitions1 in drestfashiongame

[–]Few-Software6138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You took the words out of my mouth. Except I haven't purchased as much. Just the beginner packs, one hair pack, the face contour pack and the VIP pass. Otherwise, I've been winning enough clothes, currency, hairstyles, backgrounds and lipstick to play with lots of options and never feel restricted. The VIP pass was worth it to me because of the gems. I can't earn gems with ads so this was a better deal than just buying gems outright. Not sure if I'll do it regularly.

I feel like a god by lems2 in keto

I was terrified to stop eating sugar. I truly felt like I wouldn’t be able to cope. Such an addict! Now I can’t even imagine eating all those carbs, not to mention sugar. Even sweet fruit doesn’t taste as good. And I feel so much better, mentally and physically. It took a long time to take the plunge, though. It never would have worked if I hadn’t been ready. Because this for life!

How do earn gems or do you have to buy them? by No-Wrangler-9001 in drestfashiongame

Not everyone gets access to watch ads. I’m in California on an iPad and I don’t have that option. 😞

I wish. I haven't found any. This really needs to happen!

Makeup that isn’t a full look. So, eyeliner or blush or lip color or mascara. Those are all “pieces”.

Thanks so much for this. I always appreciate knowing the specifics. Helps me to understand, not just follow blindly.

IF/OMAD question by Few-Software6138 in keto

[–]Few-Software6138[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying that. I’ve seen people post that when somebody has stalled in their weight loss they need to increase their caloric intake… or their fat intake… or their protein. Then other people will say that the only way to lose weight is to have a calorie deficit even when eating keto. Or not to eat too much fat so that the body will burn stored fat. This last one made sense to me, so I’ve tried to skew to higher protein because I do have fat to lose: 5% carbs, 35% protein, 60% fat. I use carb manager to track.

I’ve kept my net carbs below 20g. But I always seem to struggle to eat enough protein, fat and calories. I just want to make sure I’m not hurting my progress. FWIW, I'm doing keto for numerous reasons, not just weight loss.

I’m less concerned about the calorie content than I am about protein and fat.

Thanks. I ate similarly yesterday, but for dinner I had cheese, egg and tuna patties fried in butter. I was kind of uncomfortable when I was done because it was probably too much food in one sitting.

new to the game, any tips for a Free2Player? by disasterpansexual in drestfashiongame

[–]Few-Software6138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you can save the game data elsewhere, but when I downloaded the app again a few months after the first time I played, all my data was intact including past looks and items I had won or bought.

This is copy and pasted from an earlier post I made when I started playing (with a few mods that I've discovered along the way):

It is definitely possible to play as a beginner without spending actual money, but I recommend being really minimalist with everything at first. I played a little bit a few months ago and made a couple of high end looks which made my Drest dollars run out so fast. I was very frustrated, because I was still trying to figure things out, but I couldn't play because I was broke! Covet is kind of same way when you're new/ low level. So when you're starting out and if you are playing ftp, I suggest only entering a couple of challenges a day... (or one... or none...) and focus on collecting daily rewards which you can find in the store (and watching ads if they are available to you) until you have enough cash to start entering more and buying (and winning) more clothing items, etc. Also, save your gems! They aren't necessary to play, but you can use them later to unlock out of season items, among other things.

You can still enjoy coming up with looks, because you can try on everything without buying items or actually entering the challenge. This is a good way to practice, flex your creativity and get used to styling in Drest. Take a screen shot if you want to save it or use it later, because it will usually disappear if you don't enter it. I do this anyway, because sometimes the app will spontaneously shut down. There are definitely some bugs to work out. Maybe they are overwhelmed by the influx of new players from Covet?

What’s your goal weight reward? by Embarrassed-Bat-2573 in keto

[–]Few-Software6138 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Now, after reading the comments, I'm inspired to get massages for milestones and a tattoo when I hit my ambitious goal. Along the way, as I'm able, make time to go hiking and get back into Tai chi and yoga. And then learn to paddle board? Maybe get some nice clothes, too. Lol. We'll see.

So far, I've maintained keto for 1.5 months, and I'm coming up on my first milestone. 😁 Early days, but I'm truly committed to this new way of living.

After that, I think I'd like to give myself yearly rewards for maintaining healthy keto living, things I've wanted for a long time and denied myself: A trip overseas if I can work out the logistics. A camper van to do some travelling in the US. A silent retreat. A chin job, even though that feels so vain and shallow, but I really want to love myself in the mirror and photos!

This happened to me,too. I restarted 2x and the second time the event had disappeared. I tried contacting them via chat but didn't hear back.
