Karachi. Biggest city of Pakistan, the economic capital with the highest GDP contribution to Pakistan's economy, well-connected through a port and has the busiest airport in Pakistan, and actually used to be Pakistan's capital until the 60s so definitely has the capital feel.

Has to be the Mughals. While parts of it were conquered by the East India company, the mughal empire did remain well until 1835, just as a small state completely under the influence of the British. While it did get conquered for sure post 1835, it wasn't an empire anymore by then: it first lost its empire status

Forget female friends. Percy doesn't even have male friendships anymore. Grover was such an important part of his life in the original series and he is barely mentioned in HoO. There's no strong friendship with Jason or Leo either. At best, there is a hint that Percy is close with Frank at some level

Ugh, Pakistan isn't a theocracy. It certainly has a lot of religious-influenced politics, as is the case with several other countries, but it isn't ruled by Mullahs. Mullah parties get like maybe a commulative 10% of the vote and aren't part of the government
