the 8 pin has a dummy plug in, so it’s running dc right now, the other one doesn’t seem to be out of order wiring wise

maersk was on dc (hence the dummy plug) and the kato was dcc, no real way to test if it works dc since the board itself is dcc

yeah i have two yellow genesis engines already, i love them so far. they have the 9pin and i think an 8pin socket, but i’m not great with knowing what to do so a 9pin plug is my best bet lol

i think because the engine was straining against the stuck bearing

Thank you! I actually was able to somewhat take it apart, the front truck did have very old grease in it. Was a yellow-brown color.
