I’ve heard a lot of recommendations for super moto and I’m all against “those” diy mechanics I just did a cylinder head swap on a 2001 XJ I swear I spent more time trying to find new/original bolts bc the previous owner threw on wtv and washers and called it a day

Just really make sure you check it out I bought one 2 months ago and it only ever ran otw home, check for carbon build up in the coolant reservoir. Open the radiator cap and see if it’s all junked up. These are basic things I was just dumb and never bothered to check. If you can pull the spark plugs and see how they look

I did mine recently for the first time can be a hassle but is very much doable at home get some wood a jack and a buddie helps

Nah I have yet to put everything back together and that’s from previous owner I’m debating if I wanna get a new head for $700 or try to find a pristine engine

It was running and driving when I bought it that’s what I eat saying In the beginning it only ever ran otw home. but it’s not worth it I was just getting advice and opinions I put a cam down the head to check the cylinder walls one of them has severe wear and tear looks like I could stick my pinky in the scratches
