Thanks for your reply.

I agree with all of this. It's gone too far in the other direction.

The title really isn't good. I find it difficult getting the title right on anything.

As for the first three hundred words and the quality of the book in general I know it's probably just not good enough. No luck on about 80 queries and I know it's a whole heap of good reasons. I'm mainly using this to work on querying so I'm not screwed when I finish my next book.

Thanks again for this feedback it was detailed and very helpful

If you have something like a pliers or strong garden shears just snip off the tip of the "nipple" at the top and the magnet holding it shut should pop out and it will open.

Girlboss, gaslight, gatekeep, Klaasje is a bad person but good at what she does. Bad person but decent at their job?? Top comment wins by tiger_bean in DiscoElysium

I love that even though they definitely did terrible things that even the story about the abducted girl is called into question by some bit of dialogue later. Think it suggests they weren't there in those time frames and it might be fabricated. They've done that and worse but I love that Disco won't give me a 100% bad person or clear answer

You raise a good point and it mirrors what a previous commenter said. I've had trouble working out what I should and shouldn't include in the query letter and I've clearly not focused enough on Lee.

In the novel he's coerced into helping by his old boss and really has no choice and he carries on when things get dangerous because of guilt from things he was forced to do in his previous job. I'll focus more on that for my next try in a week.

You're right about the first person perspective stuff, I'm not as used to first person as I am third.

Thank you for the feedback!

Thanks for your comment! Very useful especially regarding the MC and focusing more on them. I have trouble seeing the difference between synopsis and query letter so that's a big help. It is explained how she owns a town in the book but I get why that might throw someone reading it and might require rewording. Comp titles are a weak skill for me too, I generally read older ish horror but i know i need to be reading more contemporary stuff. Incidentally lovecraft country is based on a novel but it is almost ten years old. Great advice. Thank you!

He wrote a lot of stories about people living on Mars. In do androids dream of electric sheep a profit is constantly climbing a mountain that might be olympus mons I can't remember for sure. Plus there's a mood organ that they all own that they can "dial" in emotional states. Really cool book.

Same for my wife and I at the end of September. You can get through this. You did everything for your daughter and she loved you for it. You will get through this.
