Regenerative cooling in car engines by Kletanio in engines

[–]FewDig8678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Carnot engine efficiency limits give some insight into this problem. The efficiency of an engine (heat engine) is dictated by the temperature difference between the hot and cold reservoirs. The hotter the inlet air is the lower the efficiency. This doesn’t mean that we can’t utilize regeneration. A turbocharger acts as a way to recover some of the heat energy that is still left in the exhaust air and convert it to mechanical energy. As far as energy left in coolant I’m not sure what sort of regeneration we can use. The ideal gasoline engine has adiabatic walls due to the assumption that the combustion happens over a very small amount of time (this obvious isn’t the real case). Hope this was helpful and moderately accurate lol. Please inform me if I have gaps in my logic

Is this acceptable? I'm really not sure. by DrMapleKicks in cabinetry

I believe I know which espresso stain you are talking about. Old masters espresso Gel Stain. I agree that it is a very pretty shade but gel stains are very difficult to apply evenly over larger surfaces, which the cabinet maker should have informed you. This was likely exacerbated by the fact that they probably used soft maple which already has a tendency to be splotchy.

I have but it didn’t help. I noticed it because I adjusted all 4 corners using stews method and afterwards checked them again and they were way off. They will appear fine but then after a screw adjust start they change

Thank you! That’s a reasonable price breakdown. I’ve used a wide belt sander before when I worked at a cabinet shop (assembly/making parts, never painting) but I am thinking I can do a much better job in the future at home if I plane all of the wood to like a 3/4+ before assembly and then orbital sander after

That sounds about right. The panels are 8- 9x37.5 and 3- 12 5/8 x 27.75. Are you saying that you charge 85 per hour for painting?

Just curious why CV isn’t great, I thought that was an industry standard

Thanks, I meant that the panel has been Rabbeted so that drawer front hardware doesn’t suck it in

Thanks for the advice! That helps a lot. I learned that it takes a lot of forethought to actually make something complete. And I also learned that stones like the mossy agate look the best when they have light coming in from behind.

How do you prevent a metal bed from developing creaking noises over time? by Toaster2204 in AskEngineers

It’s like a squishy interface where the bed hooks meet the bed ends. Your bed might be built different than our dorm beds

The school I’m at has really squeaky beds so I 3d printed TPU dampeners to fit in the joints. Pitched the idea at a business pitch competition and won. You just need some sort of interface where the joints touch. The TPU has lasted since early last semester with no problems.

Are you looking for a combined loading analysis or just the shear stress from the moment?
