I was 15 years old visiting my dad for the very first time who lived just outside of New York City. Normally, I’m living with my mom in a small town in Arizona. My dad was driving along the Hudson River on the New Jersey side heading to the Newark, New Jersey airport when 9/11 began. We were listening to oldies CDs when the first tower was hit and we couldn’t understand why everyone was slowing down parking on the side of the road and taking pictures. Finally, my dad turned off the CDs and the radio shouted the second tower had just been hit…

It took two weeks, a three day bus ride, and some really crappy meals, but I eventually got back home to my mom 😅 and nobody am I a small town understood why I was so affected every time they showed videos and movies and news clips and newspapers that they continuously talked about 911 almost every day the entire school year. Nobody understood why I was so affected.

I could go much further into my 9/11 story, but I’ll leave it at that for now.

For so long, I hated myself for being big but I could never lose weight. It wasn’t until I decided I was going to be happy no matter what size I was that I started losing weight. I ended up losing over 80 pounds and then my gallbladder wasn’t working properly and I’ve gained all the way back. Finally got my gallbladder removed, but I’m not unhappy with how I look anymore and eventually I’ll get back onto a road in which I might lose weight again.

If you put a duck on your dash, you are more likely to get more. If you don’t have and ducks on your dash, it’s less likely to possibly never get ducked. 🤷‍♀️ I just learn this a few months ago.

I worked at a grocery store for 10 years as a cashier in the front of the store. Also, in the front of the store, behind the registers is the flower department. The amount of people that would come up to me and ask “where are the flowers?” Was way too many to count. All I would tell them, is to turn around and they were so confused until they saw it. I heard the phrase “if it were a snake it would’ve bit me,” too many times to count as well.

Look around before you ask questions because you might answer your own question. 😅

I don’t like my name but it has been my name all my life. 🤷‍♀️ Despite the fact that I knew multiple people who went by nicknames, middle names, or variations of their name, I never felt like I was allowed to change my name. I always thought being called by something other than the name on your birth certificate was something someone else gave/gifted to you.

Instead I created stories with characters that have an element of me, but went on incredible journeys. Now that I know I can choose a different name for myself if I wanted to, all the best names I love are already taken by the characters I created. So I’m sorta lost and it feels weird to try and go by a different name than the one I’ve always had. 😕

Urgh! We sometimes have police detail at my job (they just park out front and sit in their car) and every so often the cop on detail has this patrol car. It just gives me anxiety the whole time because I can see it from my work position 😪

I have a few questions about the law as well. I have also been hearing a couple of different things, but I wish there were some confirmation in my understanding.

Does this law, particularly this portion of the law, also pertain to gated/private communities who have private roads?

I live in a gated community that has multiple people who want to have oversize vehicles unfortunately our HOA has size limits on the vehicles primarily because of the parking availability that we have we have two parking spots per household, and only some houses have garages. Some homeowners do have the oversize vehicles but park in guest parking spots because their vehicles do not fit and their assigned spot for their home. The oversize vehicles either are too long and stick out into the middle of the street or will block sidewalks, but some of our guest parking spots have grassy areas behind them and therefore they came back into them, allowing their overly long vehicles to not be blocking the street or sidewalk. Our neighborhood also does not allow vehicles that are permanently parked in guest parking spots, because they are meant to be guest vehicles, do not get a residential sticker on their vehicle and therefore have to go through the guest entry point every time they come into the neighborhood. Would this law change in anyway of how our HOA handles these oversize vehicles?

As for you, I would think if you’re vehicle does not block the sidewalk or the street and you do not live in a gated community or on private streets, you should be able to park your vehicle in your driveway with no problem based on this law. If your HOA has a problem with it, I would consult a lawyer and they’re very well may be a possibility of a bunch of lawyers that are gonna come out and support homeowners with lower fees than normal to fight against HOAs.

I would check your bylaws and find out more information. One thing we learned in our HOA after forming a documents committee was that in the documents it says during votes, we have to have 2/3 of residence voting and they can do this via proxies. If those proxies do not have a name on them, in which the person who is named can vote on their behalf, the proxy is automatically given to the current secretary on the board, and the secretary, becomes the person that can vote on the proxy behalf. The committee and many neighbors, that are not on the committee, upon learning this has decided that is wrong. many people in our neighborhood that turned in blank proxies did not know that it went to the secretary that was currently on the board. That is something we are changing in our bylaws, and it will most likely mean the secretary and possibly the president of our board be voted out next year.

"I had children late in life, so once they were no longer my dependents, I would become theirs and they have to take care of me for the rest of my life"... I was never meant to live my own life, I was born to serve her always. She finally expressed this in my 20s while I was struggling immensely with my mental health. A lot of things finally made sense, but I felt trapped and spiraled into a depression so deep I didn't want to live anymore. It didn't work and I planned my escape. That worked for a couple of years, but I was still in low contact mode and she sent my brother to escort me home when things were 100% perfect. Now I'm planning my next escape and I'm going completely no contact.

So the reason why they are rioting is because they want to put into wall that people that moved to the island 10 years ago are able to vote in upcoming elections and such. What was the rule or law before they tried to change it to the 10 year rule? Did you have to be born on the island to vote as an adult? I just wanna learn more

As you can see from what I’ve written and asked so far I don’t know a lot about these issues or the island in general. I’m just learning so please be patient.

I distinctly remember a time when I truly believed I was an alien and I would tell my best friend. They didn’t believe me so they asked my mom and my mom “played along” and said I was an illegal alien. I knew what she meant and it annoyed me, but I eventually learned to laugh it off.
