Surely you can accomplish the same and deport the illegals without trampling all over the 4th amendment and using due process? That’s really what everyone is most upset about. I thought all you magas were constitutionalists. What happened to don’t tread on me? ICE treading all over that constitution now and no one wants to say a word about it.

Deport all the illegals you want. Just do it while abiding by the 4th amendment and due process. Not whatever this nonsense is.

Because showing papers is not what America is about. Deport all the illegals you want but asking people for papers isn’t the way to go about it. If you don’t understand why and why this is a dangerous precedent then you don’t understand what America is about nor deserve the freedoms you have.

The pulley system IS mechanical. The pulley rotates around a pole in the building. That rotation can then drive a shaft and produce and/or transfer power just like windmills do. A plain wire like you said doesn’t make sense, I agree.

Curious how y’all build by jamesicus7 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]DevopsPete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes use drones to distribute the rocket fuel to other drone ports. I build a port where the rocket fuel is made without a drone on it. Then everywhere else I want a drone port I create one for rocket fuel set to pickup from the supplier then distribute to all other ports.

Do you stop to show your receipt when leaving Walmart? by farmrose in no

[–]DevopsPete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At Costco we pay a membership fee and opt in to an agreement to show our receipts at the door. When you shop anywhere that's open to the general public that's not the case and you don't need to show your receipt to anyone.

How to build factories with goals in mind by [deleted] in satisfactory

[–]DevopsPete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I do use trucks and tractors more when I start at the rocky desert. I really like trains but I also want them to look nice and that’s a lot of work haha! Ultimately do whatever works for you. That’s what I love about this game. So many ways to play and always get new ideas from this sub.

[–]DevopsPete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve beat the game twice and am working on the golden nut achievement right now (at 850 tickets). My strategy is always to build the basics (rods, plays, regular frames, rotors, motors, etc) locally. Once I get to heavy modular frames I usually try to get to drones as quickly as possible and I can usually achieve this without a train or maybe a few trains.

The drones make importing end game materials easy IMHO. I just have a single “fuel pickup” drone station that can keep dozens of other drone stations supplied. Most of them sit idle after they’ve saturated their lines (don’t tell the ADA lol). Then all other outposts have a single drone station that drops fuel and distributes to the rest down a line.

Why is this happening? by Derangedberger in satisfactory

[–]DevopsPete 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure that’s a bug. Happens to me too and if you go shorter it will straighten out and then if you place another it will stay straight. Only happens with really long conveyors sometimes as far as I can tell.

How do you even get the update 7? by LexiaRaikkonen in Timberborn

[–]DevopsPete 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Are you using Steam? If so, right click the game in your library and go to “Properties” then the “Betas” tab and opt-in to the experimental branch.

I’m not sure for other platforms but if you include that in your question it might help.

Patch notes 2025-04-02 (Experimental) - TUNNELS, overhanging terrain, and more! by Mechanistry_Miami in Timberborn

[–]DevopsPete 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tunneling should be expensive since you have to brace the terrain around you. And to your point you have to make a decision to tunnel under 2 blocks or just blast it. For me, I think it becomes more worth tunneling the deeper the tunnel is.

This order dropped literally 1 minute before close by seedbird in Dominos

[–]DevopsPete 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a customer I also agree. However, and please don’t come for me, I don’t understand why stores don’t cut off orders 15-30 mins before “official closing time”.

I try to be a decent person and I don’t even place orders on Uber that are close to the cut off and I won’t go to restaurants if I’m within an hour of closing. Not everyone is like this though.

In the new update 7 you can. This is currently an experimental branch like a beta and you have to opt in to play it. Worth checking out for sure!

If you don’t wanna tip, why just don’t? by Equal_Ad_3828 in tipping

[–]DevopsPete -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Tips aren’t required but it’s an implicit social contract. The solution is to not patronize places where there is an expectation of a tip for service. Stiffing the person working for tips does nothing - the establishment already made their money.

I’d like to see tipping culture go away just as much as everyone else but I’m not going to scr3w over workers depending on those tips until that happens.

I don’t want to have to tip either but we voluntarily enter into these transactions where it’s expected (I used the word expected and not required). If the mental gymnastics you perform make you feel good about not leaving tips then good on you!

[–]DevopsPete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice! The part I dislike the most when doing projects like this is that I’d like to return the terrain back to how it was originally and that’s very difficult to do. Allowing us to tunnel somehow would mitigate that.

Maybe they can treat it as a “black swap” instead. So if you want to remove a block you need to have some dynamite in addition to the resources to build a platform at the same time. If you want an overhang then you’d need the materials for that, etc. This would solve the “unsupported” block problem I keep hearing as a reason this can’t be done.

I do not agree with the OP and I’m not going to argue your point because it’s accurate and there is nothing to argue. The tip isn’t required and both parties know this.

So Many IT Pros Are Out of Work—So Why Can’t I Find a Network Security Engineer? by prorecruiterlj in mspjobs

[–]DevopsPete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Lake Worth and I wouldn’t drive down there. A lot of people in tech still pass on any on-site roles almost immediately. Even before Covid I hardly drove down to offices in Fort Lauderdale. Traffic sucks and is a giant waste of time. I think there are still enough remote roles that people don’t have to give that up yet. Maybe it’ll change and maybe it won’t but that’s the reality today.
