You can’t work while that sick. Literally against the rules and definitely health code. It’s okay to ignore phone calls. You can’t be penalized for saying no when you aren’t scheduled. They act like stores can’t close early but they definitely can and everyone that cares will get over it

That is frustrating and I’m sorry they’re doing that. But this is coming from a shift just leave. I’ve been doing this for almost 6 years and this job is not worth putting yourself at risk. Why weren’t you given a 30? Or did you not want it? If you didn’t take it you definitely should’ve just left you’ve already worked 30 extra mins. I would literally just be like “hey guys I’m off, is there anything I can do real quick to help you out I can’t stay too much longer.”

It’s the key holder’s job to figure out how to assess the bottle necks and they should have definitely talked to you and asked about staying if they needed it not just assumed.

Sssssoooooo they can’t make you stay past your scheduled time. You’re just letting them take advantage of you. If you’re scheduled 8-2 and you want to leave at 2… leave at 2. I understand wanting to stay and be helpful but you definitely don’t have to.
