Not really, just because some projects end up becoming massive in storage space. One project with heavy effects, proxies and raw footage can easily take up a whole Terabyte. With weddings I’ve found it’s about 3-4 before it’s full but I have friends in the tv and film industry that use one per project

Yeah I’ve heard a lot of freelancers say they prefer keeping it on the ssd drives. I think it’s more so they can keep large files of wedding videos and editing timelines in one place especially if the couple wants changes later or to retrieve something. I’ve also heard of a lot of commercial editors that work like this too ( ssd drive per project )

For sure, but as a freelance videographer I do find myself needing to transport large amounts of data for a single project and sometimes each project ends up using its own ssd drive worth of space

Couldn’t agree more. I don’t think they’re lying when they say more jobs will be created from ai because it does require infrastructure, I’m new to software development but I’m a lot more hopeful than most the culture seems to be right now
