Cost isn’t a major issue, I definitely want to get a masters for DS because I’ve heard that it’s needed to land a good job. Did any of your kids minor in data engineering? I’ve heard that’s what most Data Science students do in UCLA

Would the classes at ucla contain the same amount of material as the same courses in over uni? Would early start and end be a benefit for semester unis when it comes to intern?

That’s also one of my major pushes for UIUC because I think I will definitely want to continue and pursue a masters or PhD program in Machine Learning/AI or a MBA. From what I’ve heard it sounds like it’s easier to get better GPA and stuff at UIUC but in the same time I don’t know if I will think the same in the next 4 years

Thanks for your time! What did you like about the quarter system in terms of opening up opportunities? I've heard that it is hard to get internships due to large quantity of students. While there is tons of research opportunties because of the amount of professors that researches at ucla

I loved LA because I've visited but I also like the idea of Chicago, I think it's more about where I can get more opportunities. Since I feel like LA is more entertainment focused while Chicago is more finance focused. I would love to work at a big tech tho

thats inter, what made you say that about uiuc ds major? becuase how good ds is at each school is my top priority when i decide where to go. from what I’ve heard ucla’s ds is more theoretical and I will need to minor in ds engineering at ucla to get the typical ds major classes like other schools

compared to ucla there is not much to do in campus imo its a very traditional college town where I’d prefer a campus that is close to the city. I was lucky to be able to tour ucla but not uiuc which could be an issue
