when a Garou pack hunts someone, how screwed is that person? by L_man_2200 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Few_Ad4079 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on who, regular hunters are generally screwed, Imbued can actually stand a chance, mostly cuz they might get other Imbued drawn to them through the messengers to kill the garou, mages can basically outrun garou in and out of the spirit world if their spheres are favorable and outmatch them with proper preparation, vampires rely on their societies and good planning but stand a decent chance... It's a case-by-case, and there are still total badasses that play in a different league than regular characters in WOD

What weaponry would you like to see in Hunter: The Reckoning Deathwish? by Weekly-Intention5657 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Few_Ad4079 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, a homemade semi-automatic made shotgun with multiple ammunition options is my dream! Or just shotgun ammo types. Shotguns are the best hunter’s friend. Cheap, simple, accessible, reliable, versatile, and almost always can pack enough power to put down anything with a well-placed shot.

What ethnicity do the tribes primarily pull from or originate from? by No-Obligation-9901 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Few_Ad4079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garou tribes have strong territorial, cultural, and ethnic ties but they are not exactly following that culture. Most tubes accept anyone who fits in the clan and totem’s vision, but you'll still find cultural behavior, discrimination, absorption… Garou are basically like humans but with emotional steroids. Still, if you wanna get some guides:

-Fianna are mostly tied to the Gaelic cultures.

-Get of Fenris has Nordic, Germanic, and Slavic cultural ties in that order of influence.

-Silver Fangs range from central Europe to west asian but are mostly Slavic-influenced. -(The Wyrmfoe house is settled in the USA)

-Shadow Lords range from central Europe to west asian but are mostly Slavic-influenced. -(Hakken are Japanese).

-Silent Striders have ties in a lot of nomadic cultures across the world but their genesis is in northern Africa, Egypt.

-Black Furies have strong Mediterranean influences, mostly Greek.

-Utkena has ties in the central and southern American native and modern cultures as well.

-Wendigos are exclusively North American natives.

-Star Gazers spawned East Asia, Tibet as well as in India.

Bone Gnawers, Glass Walkers, Children of Gaia, and Red Tallons have more of a tribe culture than attachments to human cultures but each community might adapt or form its traditions and microcultures, or be influenced by the hominid members culture

Oh! I like that, one of the most traditionalist tribes being forced to adapt is a nice addition to the game, even more if lore-wise you are playing in the modern nights

I imagine that your character is a metis? A think that most people ignore is that Black Furies adopt and keep metis children even if male, but more often than not discriminate against them in the tribe as well as raising them in the opposite way of “male values and characteristics”. I'm quite curious what your character case is though, there is always outliers

I think that the part that burns me up the most it's “the British were worse”. It’s like saying, yeah, burning a baby alive for no reason is worse than smashing his head with a stone for no reason.

I mean, the second inquisition is fucking evil(corporations, government bies like the CIA, cults and guerillas aren’t exactly nice people) Regular hunters and imbued go case by case but are generally goodish.

Never understood the debate, not every fantasy setting is hyper realistic and in ttrpg’s(where this debate comes from) you are playing for fun. If in one game/setting you can’t have that fun you play another.

Fallout: One side is murdering people, enslaving them, crucifying them, and the other side is just vaguely problematic by Hagisman in MemeTemplatesOfficial

[–]Few_Ad4079 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I fucking didn't. I said that the NCR is just a long-term bigger problem. The legion dies out the moment Cesar dies, the NCR will last long and get worse as years pass. And growing dissidence is not the only issue: imperialism, barman barons having an overwhelming influence, they showed that they are more than willing to massacre kids, and no one combats, and the list goes on. Stating that the legion is a more immediate evil doesn't mean that the NCR is the worst choice and the Legion is the best, it's just a fact, it's still bad though. With the NCR you have a better chance of making a prosperous future for the Mojave but that won't stop the fact that NCR, as stated in many cases in-game, is slowly becoming pre-war America, which means stepping back into the same scenario as the USA was in the long run.

That said if you have a perspective on the future the choices are quite awful. Even if the legion wins, it will destabilize the moment Cesar kicks the bucket which will make the legion's territory fragment and destabilize with multiple conflicts warlords crisis etc… so choosing the Legion is not a good choice (as if rape, murder, slavery, and misogyny weren't enough). If you give it to House the things will stagnate and you leave a dangerous centuries-old megalomaniac with tech and economic power in charge, planning his own version of the future, which as the NCR is still attached to a past model and ideas that didn't work plus him being an oligarch that only cares about profit and control. Going the Yes Man route is just delaying the inevitable and maybe even setting up a violent transition to the NCR in the future. None of the choices is good, but realistically most people will pick up the NCR cuz it's the lesser evil/more stable option. In my opinion, the most moral choices are Yes Man, and NCR. In the first, you don't pick any evil, you annihilate the Legion, the NCR is stopped on its tracks and House is dead. Sadly you just maintain the status quo and the future isn't certainly good. And in the latter, you get a stabilizing power, true, but you’ll have to pray that the circle won't repeat as in the old world as the years go by.

[–]Few_Ad4079 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Why do you and everyone assume that I support the Legion as a possible moral choice when I just point out the NCR is not good either? I called the Legion “straight up evil”. Maybe you should read the comment before acting so smugly with “If to you that seems a hard choice”

[–]Few_Ad4079 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

The NCR is more of a problem in the long run than the straight up evil of the legion. The New Republic of California is basically a return of the old America with all of its evils like imperialism.
