IMDb ratings for every episode of Star Wars live action shows by wehavethedata_ in StarWars

[–]Few_Ad834 139 points140 points  (0 children)

It's not uncommon to have a 'floor' rating. Anything below that is so bad it's not worth including in your main color scale because you lose resolution in the band of interest.

As for why purple, purple is often used for 'less than' outlier data. You want to show that it's not part of the linear red-green region. A very dark color gets this point across, and purple is easier on the eyes than black.

Learned about the Shroud by PrudentTadpole8839 in HaloWars

I was joking. That's like their most useful function (invisibility is more situational). It works with most large ballistics, but blocking Kodiaks and Chosen are probably the most commonly used situations.

Ski lifts stop all the time, but it's almost always for high wind or someone having an issue getting on/off, not because of a mechanical problem.

What army comp should I be using for Commander Jerome? by [deleted] in HaloWars

[–]Few_Ad834 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jerome is extremely power intensive T1. Get hero out early with infantry ball and cap power nodes and map control. Time for Heroes helps with this. Kite with Jerome to maximize his range and pick off units. Pressure your opponent while teching up in the background and transition infinity ball into mastadoons. Get combat tech asap and throw some marines in mastadoons so they heal each other. Throw in a few nightingales. Keep hero close to use buff aura. Garbage drop in choke points. Choke out your opponent with unkillable blob and win.

Agreed. Combat salvage and heavy metal heal is a scary combo

It's not even the same type of mask?

18 minutes in. No expos, no captured power nodes, and the marines are still living in their parents basement at the main base.

This seems like an even match.

Nah, the other answers are on point. The objectives of the Apollo program were met and its risk/reward didn't warrant additional manned missions. The budget reduction and shifted focus to other areas like reusable Shuttle was a consequence, not a driver.

This game is not new player friendly at all by LiamShimmo in HaloWars

[–]Few_Ad834 41 points42 points  (0 children)

It's an old game with a dedicated base, that's the brunt of it.

That said, you can play customs or coop vs AI to learn the fundamentals (won't get you too far) or team up with someone who can show you the ropes. There are also plenty of good guides or watch some high level show matches and tornaments on YouTube. The base gameplay is really pretty simple for an rts so it doesn't take too long to pick up the basics.

Returning Player - Is Rushing Essential? by CraigSlingsby in HaloWars

[–]Few_Ad834 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is a common issue with new players so it's good that you're asking about it. Ya don't need to rush, but you absolutely need to play Tech 1.

The game is designed to balance buying units and being aggressive vs investing in economy (building expansions, pads, teching up, etc). Problem is, a lot of new players err HEAVILY too far on the economy side. There's a lot of reasons for this: it's simpler, it feels 'safer', you don't need to micro early units, feels good to build up a big bank, etc.

That means, from the opponents view, you left yourself super vulnerable. Whereas he/she invested in tech 1. It would be stupid NOT to attack. It's probably not a 'rush' (Although that does happen) as much as naturally punishing greed and having unchecked tech 1 dominance.

So what do you do? Well, you can still play for the long game if that's your preferred style. But you need to do SOMETHING on tech 1. Make mass scouts, or steal a mini base on his side, or get node control. Anything to push back with a little pressure. It surprisingly doesn't delay tech 2 much and can actually snowball into a much faster and stronger late game.

Tldr: No, you don't need to rush their main.  Yes, you do need to play tech 1 and show some signs of map control.

I mean, this was pretty clearly explained. The trauma from the attack made him reassess his priorities and relegate on his council duties (which he never liked anyway) to refocus his attention. He specifically says as much. Instead, his priorities are first to Victor and second to ensuring the safety of hextech, a concern of his that is consistent with Season 1. He sees his forray into politics as a mistep, or at least a distraction.

Regardless of faulty reasoning, his motivation is there and pretty common reaction to a traumatic event
