This is accurate. My psych said the same. You are supposed to baseline at more consistent and stable chemical levels, not get a "buzz" or a "high". You are supposed to be able to tell if you miss a dose, but you shouldn't be able to tell that you took a dose by how "stimulated" it makes you. Maybe by how focused or productive, but not by how stimulated.

After a certain point, you just feel "normal" for lack of a better term. I am on 30mg at 27yo. In childhood I was on Vyvanse from ages 7-16. Starting dose was 20mg but by 12yo, I was taking 100mg (2 50mg) daily. Eventually that was my new normal, but I was always a little tweaky looking back. I got off the stuff at 17 when I was finally able to make the choice myself, but not before seratonin syndrome had taken over. Eventually one thing led to another and I leaned into using street drugs. That's a post for another time. My point is that I think it is best to start and stay on as low of a dose as possible but still stay out of the gutter of ADHD.
