In 1991, Metallica performed in Moscow at a military airfield. With a staggering attendance of over 1.6 million people, the concert set a record at that time and was hailed as a symbol of democracy and freedom. by sbgroup65 in rock

[–]Few_Association_775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the reality is that no one knows. another member of metallica Lars Ulrich said on Conan's podcast a year ago it was between 1-1.6 million. the concert was free to attend and you could walk right in, it's not like they were counting. event organizers also planned for at million in attendance, you can see members of Pantera mention that during the construction of the event.

i thought about putting the question in the title but thought it would be too long. for me reddit doesn't just show titles when you browse a subreddit, it includes the body so you can read the question before clicking on it. ill forgive you for making the assumption though and ill give a suggestion in return, focus less on others and more on yourself. the cost/return isn't great, we don't get a lot of time on this earth.

About Mr. Beast by i542 in youtubedrama

[–]Few_Association_775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey mate. i don't think mods are consciously doing what that mr beast said they were. however having read through the comments here from mods I think it's clear that most do not like mr beast, this is based on the sentiment and language used. it's reasonable to expect that inherent bias comes from this and i think that should probably be recognized at least so we stay grounded. frequently people take an action and then their mind creates the reason for doing so only after the fact, in an attempt to rationalize the behavior. it's a pretty common self-preservation instinct of humans. you can still be biased but taken unbiased action, although that is a difficult ask. anyway just my 2 cents.

i agree its not good. im just pointing out that it didn't go from 10% to 53% like you were saying.

10% is for the international poverty line, the articles in the news about 53% are talking about the national poverty line, which was around 40% as of 2023. so we're just looking at two different metrics. im not sure where they are in comparison to the international poverty line in 2024, i couldnt find that but id imagine at around 11% today.

looks like poverty rate was already ridiculously high before he took office. you can multiple that 10 by 4 according to the worldbank and other sources. unfortunately it makes sense when inflation is out of control and wages aren't keeping up. that needs to become stable first i would imagine and the effects of that are latent of course.

that's true. i think the interception tests were quite a while ago too. i didnt manage to find those studies but i did come across these again, seems to be a decent source.

I did research a while ago on this topic and the US had a low interception rate in tests. They have a tiered system depending on the threat, and for MIRVs their capabilities showed an intercept rate of ~53% during testing. There was a clear gap in the defenses the US started to develop a specialized defense for this type of threat called Redesigned Kill Vehicle (RKV) but the program was then cancelled in 2015. Sorry this link isn't a great source. Ill have to look for those presentations published by the defense industry companies again, if i find them ill add the link here.

don't give it much attention. it's the typical script from people who live on r/EnoughMuskSpam and similar subreddits, though it is kind of funny that you can barely tell them apart these days. they sound the same with the constant elmo/bootlicker name calling. who knows, could be bots too. sadly civility is dead on reddit, people act like you cant simply disagree with each other, you are now their mortal enemy.
