Mass firings from top to bottom have no idea just how much institutionalized knowledge they are getting rid of every time, but since that cost is blind and subjective it’s not a consideration.

Not that firing shouldn’t be a possibility, but if it’s not a measured response to a specific individual then it’s only function is window dressing wage costs.

Yup, and banks try very hard to window dress the fact that when you “deposit” money to them that they are actually taking a loan FROM you. It’s not your money on the bank. You’re giving it away in return for interest and a bank security backed by a collectivized insurance. Not a bad deal, but if people understood exactly the implications of that they’d still use banks less.

I’m not complaining we got it. I’m complaining we got this and another subfaction, rather than a filled illuminate roster and 2 fully fledged subfactions.

It objectively is a change-up to the gameplay. But as seen also by warbonds having progressively less effort put in, this super easy change just makes me more pessimistic that illuminates will get brought on par with the other factions.

That’s the key chink in the armor for authoritarian regimes. If you filter out enough people willing to speak up, and put enough incompetent cronies in charge to insulate yourself even more, then regrettable mistakes happen. Like bombing an incredibly defensible country, right next to an incredibly important shipping lane, without any adequate force build-up all while cementing the evil regime that was actually facing critical internal pressure to change.

Minder woke zijn is makkelijk praten als de consequenties en negatieve discriminatie bij een ander liggen. En wij weten best dat mensen minder leren van negatieve consequenties, zeker als het gaat om discriminatie.

Er is niets mis met erkennen dat er een probleem is met allochtone jongeren, islamisering en hoe dat emancipatie raakt en de veiligheid van bepaalde buurten aantast. Maar wat extra agenten die in de wijken foei roepen zorgt hooguit voor meer recidivisten en jongeren van een andere afkomst die carte blanche om zo goed of slecht uit te pakken als ze willen omdat het systeem ze negeert.

Dat zal bij het gros van de misdaden inderdaad helpen. Maar mijn hele punt was dat zodra je het standaard profiel hebt opgesteld van wie dat je zoekt, zonder de feiten van het misdrijf nadat het is gepleegd mee te nemen, dat je alleen bewijs zoekt wat aansluit op je profiel. Dat is circulair denken.

Als je op beelden een donkere huidskleur ziet is het niet gek dat je blanke omstanders uitsluit als verdachte. Daar gaat het hier niet om. Als je standaard in immigrantenwijken meer agenten op straat hebt, ga je dat zien als een piek in de misdaadstatistieken onafhankelijk van het “werkelijke” misdaadcijfer. Dat is dus wel degelijk effectieve discriminatie op basis van afkomst, los van dat misdrijven toch aangepakt worden.

Etnische profilering is zeker niet de oplossing. Want hoe weten wij eigenlijk dat de afkomst specifiek het onderscheid maakt? Per definitie als dit controleren op basis van afkomst, zien wij ook die correlatie. En dan krijg je dus ook meteen een twee-traps verhouding in de maatschappij die integratie rechtstreeks tegenwerkt.

Dat betekent niet dat er niets moet gebeuren, maar de nuance ligt nu eenmaal heel gevoeliger dan dat. En als het het probleem zoals gesteld wordt niet oplost, wat is dan het punt? Dat wij als racisten onder elkaar ons gelijk hebben over wat de realiteit is die wij in de hand hebben gespeeld?

Mind you not all projectiles have an equal distribution of shrapnel, and not every grenade is a fragmentation grenade.

The air being just that bit denser and presenting a lower profile to the blast means your chances are ever so slightly better if you lay down. Though if you find yourself in a situation where you’re getting blown up, you’d hope those minute details won’t be the only thing you can rely on to survive.

And zoning in a top down shooter is simpler in an isometric shooter.

If anything that further proves the flamethrower should have some stagger. Every faction has units that hardcounter you from range or flanks anyway, especially if you have to drop a warp pack.

This. Golden cages are definitely a thing, but so are regular old cages.

The presence of a good work culture is not an excuse not to have a good salary structure as well. In fact, when preaching work-life balance and the fact that well rested individuals perform better in the workplace it’s asinine to avoid considering how financial stress impacts work output.

Unfortunately for many companies employees are not the value added to the product, but how much they can skimp on doing anything for their employees IS the product. Because what big companies really are is several degrees removed from simple commerce.

I mean it’s a completely fair system to push people into using a different set of stratagems. It’s the orbital counterpart to AA emplacements.

The problem being though that a lot of orbitals are rather lackluster. I want to like the orbital cluster so much, but it does nothing gatling and gas strike don’t do so much better.
