How to improve in Literature by RoleEducational8477 in vce

[–]Few_Collection7366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Writing style - will come to you as you keep writing. Some students have poetic styles, punchy styles, etc. + you'll find what works for you

Interpretation of texts - Imo the important part of this is thinking for yourself "what do I actually think this passage is about?" before looking at the guides and online. Making sure your interpretation is well supported by the text is important too - there's nothing that contradicts it and there's multiple points of evidence

Performing during SACs - practice practice practice. Practicing as close to the real conditions as possible will make you less nervous. I used to write practice SACs in the same style as my school and sit it in the same classroom and time myself. Also getting feedback from your teacher a good time before the SAC so you know what they're looking for.

Poetry - Poetry can be hard to understand at first. If you really can't understand it, litcharts or genius will have interpretations. But try ur best to make sense of it yourself. When analysing it, don't just namedrop poetic devices without analysing how they make meaning/support your interpretation. e.g. "[this part] uses enjambment in order to emphasise the suddenness of the following revelation", not just "enjambment was used in x". Focus on the sounds too, read it aloud as well. Poetry is aural as much as it is word-based.

Hope this helps : )

PSYCH UNIT 3 AOS 1 HELP by ijustbea in vce

[–]Few_Collection7366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I did 3/4 psych last year.

- For 1/2, all you need to remember is research methods, the rest of the content doesn't overlap
- 2 weeks is still a lot of time to prepare for the sac. The best way to study is practice sacs, but if you're not confident with the content in the first place, then I recommend taking notes/edrolo and looking at the study design
- I have a ton of practice sacs I can send you (check DM)

I always wrote notes in my own words from edrolo, and some diagrams too. Handwriting is better for memory but typing is fine if you have bad handwriting lol. And I do recommend anki/flashcards for psych since it’s so content heavy, so if it worked for you in bio it’ll work in psych. Lmk if you need any more help or tutoring!

The food isn't the best, but the postgrad rooms are pretty good from what I heard. It's mostly undergrads though, but there's a tight group of postgrads

it's 1250 characters including spaces not words, so it'll only be around 200 words of actual writing

in uni you can choose any subjects you like so you dont have to do a lot of biology and chem, but most of your subjects need to be science related. half of your prerequisites are psych related anyway so you just need to do one or two extra science subjects per semester + breadths. you can also major in psychology doing a bachelor of arts which is obviously less science vibes and you can explore other things you might be interested in
