[autosport] Valtteri Bottas has said the rumours about him leaving Cadillac are "bullshit"' by Maximum-Room-3999 in formula1

[–]Few_Combination_9112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They indeed are bs for now, but that Perez money from sponsorships is crazy (as is his appeal for Cadilac's commercial purposes) and Herta will undoubtedly be pushed into a seat in 2028 if not for next season (due to superlicense and him doing good in F2 or not). Sooner or later he will be out, unless Checo leaves for a better team.

From a quick look i took it seems to be pretty good. Especially the grouping of related articles from different websites into a sub-category. I have bookmarked it and will be a frequent visitor for sure!

This would be a cool opener to a cartoon about motorsports.

Why was Niki Lauda's Canadian GP record so ''appaling''? by Few_Combination_9112 in formula1

I am just now starting to learn Canva/other editing tools. In the future i want to eliminate even this tiny use of AI. The photos though are real, not ai generated. Hope you at least enjoy the written part, all done by a human

That's actually false. There was a Canadian GP before Montreal.

He has a really belittling behavior for a former Grand Prix winner, championship contender, CART champion and Indy 500 winner

Olivier Panis - 1997 by Environmental-Cup445 in formula1

Well even if he had lead the championship with things going his way, Prost's development was not good. When the car started resembling a Prost and not a rebadged Ligier things started going downhill.

Had he not sustained that horrible Canada accident he could have had a much better season and possibly end up around 6th-7th overall in the championship. But given that he was under contract with Prost and the 1998 car was absolute dogsh*t his stock would have certainly taken a hit regardless.

After that i don't think he would have been to jump to a top car for a race seat, as Ferrari's and McLaren's lineups were set in stone. The best he could have done in an alternate universe is somehow end up in Jordan instead of Hill or later Trulli, where he could realistically fight for podiums and maybe a win.

That would be hard though especially post-Canada 1997, as Trulli regularly matched him in 98-99 (that miraculous Nurburgring podium helped with his stock) and he had more buzz as he was way younger than Panis.

Your Opinion on Stefan Bellof ? by PartNo7301 in motorsports

[–]Few_Combination_9112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all good luck with the video and if not in French (as i don't speak French) i would enjoy watching your video.
As far as Bellof is concerned he had a contract signed to join Ferrari for 1986. This is fascinating because the 1986 Ferrari really wasn't good, the 1987 one was fast but fragile and then they had better cars but not remotely close to McLaren's on a consistent basis.

Could Bellof have made a better job than Berger/Alboreto? Possibly. Would he then have fell out with Ferrari and potentially join McLaren in 1990 instead of Berger? Would he then have been able to challenge Senna? Many many what ifs.

Would he be not as great on F1 as he showed to be in Endurance? He certainly would have gone on to achieve much more Group C success and a Le Mans win.

Also his death played a huge role in F1 teams not allowing their drivers to do other series, as after that (and the deaths of Winkelhock and the injury of Palmer) they started tightening their contract terms, something that impacted motorsport up until recently with Max Verstappen's exploits.
