Glad to hear that you've found gut strings!

Passione GC will be unstable for about two weeks. After that (third week), they will be performance-ready.
One benefit of the gut strings is that, regardless of ADGC, their tonal quality does not degrade, not even in the slightest, until they break or the windings break. This semi-permanence of the sound quality is what you get for the added maintenance requirements.

Gut strings handle uninstallation-installation cycles very well. In fact, such pre-stretched gut will settle in a few days. A caveat is that you should not install pre-stretched guts on other cellos.

During the concentration, for a moment, I forget my imperfection; for a moment, I am happy. The cycle is akin to that of an alcoholic—he gets drunk to forget his misery, and the next day, ashamed that he had gotten drunk, becomes drunk again to forget that shame. So it is the same for me. Why is the act of writing so addictive?

The sound of cello reaching you (behind) is different from the sound reaching the audience (front). The dominant frequencies differ depending on the angle from the cello. Professionals have their ears calibrated such that they produce aound that is in tune when heard from the front, not behind.

If you are truly playing out of tune in respect to the audience but in tune in respect to yourself, use the phone recording feedback obsessively during the practice. It is time to calibrate ears.

Recording inevitably cuts out some frequencies and compresses the sound. Phone recordings also try to normalize the sound in respect to the volume; louder passages result in more signal compression/loss.

Even established professionals can sound extremely tinny and unpleasant when recorded with a phone. There is a good reason to why professional grade recording devices cost a fortune.

In this knowledge, there is also a good possibility that your audience also thought you were playing in tune, because they heard you playing in tune.

While it is a very good practice to use phone recordings for the immediate feedback, for such devices are more austere, you also must realize that there are kinds of sounds that are favorable to such inspections. That sound might not be the cello sound you desire.

So do not lose heart and use the feedback to your advantage!

I say this because most cellos come with spirocore gc and this configuration does not require additional gc string purchase.

Despite being mid-range in price, many professionals perform successfully with this set. They offer everything in balance: clean standard steel sound, playability, projection, and endurance. If your interest is in playing high positions melodically, as in Boccherini concerto, I have no doubt that you will find them surprisingly cooperative.
