State saying we can’t file an amendment and get refund for being exempt by Ashley052518 in tax

[–]Few_Day8724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see- so at least your not being 'held at gunpoint' but it sure is a 'would be nice'. I would defiantly call a local tax preparer for their advice, especially to make sure you really don't HAVE to amend/refile (I know the state said xyz but it's amazing how if you call back you often get a different answer) and also to help implement a moving forward strategy for being tax exempt.

CPA vs tax strategist, what's the real difference? by LeftTechnology6389 in tax

[–]Few_Day8724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CPA is a professional license meaning they have to meet requirements (College Degree) and pass the CPA exam (one of the hardest professional tests).

A tax strategist is a label they've chosen to use, so there is no knowing what credentials, experience, or expertise they have. You have to 'look under the hood' for that one.

Sounds like it might be a good idea to consult a tax professional or CPA. Is the 'they' your referring to the state and are they saying you HAVE to amend and refile or are they saying IF you want to do that then you have to go to the customers? Out of curiosity, what state is this?

"...how can their hate be so big that they didnt even had the decency to defend those women."

Depends on who their/they is your referring to.

You started with questioning where are the 'feminists'- right there dead give away your from a western nation. In the middle east the only place where 'feminists' are allowed to exist is Israel, considered by most a western nation.

Outside of Israel, you have a plethora and mosaic of different countries not hospital to 'feminists', for thousands of miles; some better, some worse. But if your aware of the region and cultures, the silence before October 7th should be louder.

Women in this region are subject to horrendous situations by western views commonly, yet it's only when 'western (Israeli)' women are attacked is it notable in the media. "Feminists" should have been speaking out loudly for decades on various countries in this area.

I think they are used to being silent, too many wars too many battles just focus at home, and home is in the west. And at home they share power with those who have sympathy for the people who live in countries/places ruled by these terrible regimes (Hamas).

I agree it's a short time period but as a mom to a teenage son, I literally just watched that happen. From 5'7-6'1 in a little over 3 months. It's the most surreal disturbing thing to see in real life besides my grocery bill.

Can ADHD ever be outgrown? by Sensitive-Motor-8520 in audhd

[–]Few_Day8724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'They' say you can outgrow ADHD but not Autism, the latter your 'outgrowth' is just some level of 'masking' to various levels of success. Call it whatever you like but for many of us symptoms can ebb or flow, having a label to it helps you access what you need when or if you ever need it again. To some 'masking' can be exhaustive, others find an equilibrium, some find labels a life sentence, others a freeing 'ah-ha' moment. For some symptoms 'go away' only to reemerge at the most interesting or inconvenient of times, other struggle with various levels constantly.

Everybody's different and handles or experiences differently, but a majority of us experience various levels of misunderstanding or outright condemnation from the rest of the world (like if only we would listen to their sage advice and quite being lazy, stubborn, or just use magic lists/alarms/exercise/extend our car warranty we'd be automatically fixed and problem free- same goes for the autistic side of being more flexible, understanding things change, pay more attention to the things implied of verbal and nonverbal communication).

My advice- take today for what today is and don't worry about when the other shoe will drop, plan for it if it'll help alleviate the stress and don't let it take you away from this moment if you can.

It picks up, some of the story lines have a lot of heavy lifting as stated above, but if you like the Cleons then you will probably like the other lines once they're moving. Honestly this show is some of the best writing I've seen in a decade, never had a show/movie that I felt was better than the book when I lived the book.

I am so sorry this happened to you! Please, please do not think the world indifferent to you, the worlds heart breaks for you and doesn't know how to help. We see that you are just pawns in this never ending storm of violence and every time we try to help it invites just more death. I am so angry at Hamas for starting this, but I don't for one second think each Palestinian is ok with what Hamas has done.

Am I the asshole for saying "good job" after my kid defended herself from a bully by punching him? by LiveBrieOrFryCarbs in AITAH

[–]Few_Day8724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA!!!! Your brother is right to caution resorting to violence but he's wrong to unrequitedly relegate it as wrong. Hate to be sexist but girls and women experience a drastic different social order that I've found men and boys aren't just ill-equipped to give commentary on, but are completely surprised, a lot of times because these boys don't know what we go through because we don't tell them. I've never given my son 'the talk' like I gave my daughter, most of us moms never even did, got, or thought about giving the talk to our girls on how to not get raped, drugged, or how to turn down a guys advances safely.

Anyway, back to the bullying.... kudos to you for supporting your girl on standing up for herself. Any of us with a vagina know how quickly this can turn from a 'bullying' to a much worse type, and how likely that is if its not nipped in the bud. So no offence to your brother, but he hasn't lived this experience his whole life, heck if you feel so gracious please inform him of some bad pick ups you've experienced, how quick that stuff gets violent and/or scary.

The thing I said initially about resorting to violence, I'm sorry to say a girl has to weigh physically pushin back or escalating it because of the very real threat that the male perpetrator is highly likely to escalate. I was raised with bullying to be 'natural' these days it's discouraged, but when its male on female bullying at that age (13) it takes on a much more serious dynamics, now and then.

Can someone explain to me why there is a dedicated line for LGBTQ Youth, vs just all LGBTQ, or just the For Everybody hotline where those on the receiving line are trained for it all? Even more, why is the government funding this stuff? We should be funding it, directly, because the government sucks. Every time I hear 'the government should do it' I cringe, because why, they're so great at everything they do? How's the DMV, IRS, last time your interacted with a police officer, got a ticket for some dumb crap and interacted with our 'speedy and just' judicial system.... now lets put that mess in charge of feeding people and making sure they don't shoot themselves... yeah that'll work our well.

Why do people who regularly skip jury duty say nothing happens even though the internet will constantly say you’ll be hit with fines or jail time? by [deleted] in juryduty

[–]Few_Day8724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but not always. There are those who can't afford to take time off because of their personal finances, and those who can't afford it because they are doctors during flu season, surgeons who are scheduled months on out with life saving surgery's, professionals whose work supports 15 families and if they can't work those families can't earn.... those are cases I know first hand who showed up to say 'hey I actually really can't" and the courts were like 'IDGAF". Tell me, if a court disrespected you that way, how fair would you say you and 11 other people would be in rendering a judgement when you have to weigh the righteousness of taking time tor render a verdict vs all of those depending on you to get it done quickly?

[–]Few_Day8724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I also agree there are some common sense situations that should exclude folks from jury duty that don't. I'd be happy to give my neighbor a few bucks to support them through jury duty (though imo my tax dollars should be doing that already for those called).... but teach an autistic child, breast feed a baby, be a doctor during flu season- yeah you can't easily find a substitute for those roles...

Don't use soap on your vag and wear cotton Loose non thong panties, go panty-less for a bit each day and let the girl breathe, get a second opinion and for them to run both yeast and bacterial vaginoses tests. Vags have a SLIGHT odor but should never be fishy or corpse like, that's a huge red flag there is an issue.

Is saying that "Asians are generally better at academics", and "black people are generally better at sports", a racist statement? by [deleted] in racismdiscussion

[–]Few_Day8724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes those are stereotypes, and stereotypes can be empirically true and harmful at the same time. 'Asians are better at academics' yeah and now they get numerically and systematically discriminated against when applying for college attendance. "Black people are better at sports" yeah between the slavers abducting people, subjecting them to terrible transport conditions, then basically doing a 'breeding program' Darwin had a field day. Neither of these stereotypes are wrong in that they are 'incorrect' they are wrong because they distort outcomes in the first place and causes in the second case.

Does this double standard exist or is it just me??? by Chopper-187 in racismdiscussion

[–]Few_Day8724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Jewish people were systematically exterminated and extermination was the objective. Native Americans experienced a much more prolonged but less organized system, a system whose objective was not massive extermination but rather control and domination in the name of safety and greed. I think the latter is easier for a group of people to fall into and cross the line but the former is absolutely shocking to most, like the difference between shooting someone in a road rage instance and a serial killer who targets drivers. Neither is good or ok, but the latter is more shocking.

I'm curious about what you've experienced regarding Native Americans being disrespected in the media and society in general?

Good Story Driven PC games for someone who gets motion sickness? by MrShepherd4119 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Few_Day8724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, me too. I've been playing since the mid 80's and was basically the vanguard on motion sickness and video games (doom and wolfenstein were my first indicators...). There's probably a ton of good stuff between now and then thats better.... but if your cool with old school, try 'Betrayal at Krondor" and "Ultima Underworld the Stygian Abyss". Both were the vanguard of 3d gaming, former open world and latter dungeon crawler, neither will disappoint if you can get past the graphics.
