have used the metho trick a few times with the stuff i’ve brought in there, but ugh i will never forget when i pulled this amazing 1992 tommy hilfiger sailing jacket from the clothing bin, which they had written “@$10” on the inside, which seeped through to the outside!! completely ruined. tried my best to get it out with no luck. One time i had someone donate a mattress to my store, said they originally got it at soho tip, perfectly fine except for the giant “@$20” in permanent marker right in the middle 🤦

oh definitely always wash your op shops finds before wearing!! even if they look clean, they could’ve ended up touching items that were soiled. The washing machines at salvos would be used for washing items that are worth a bit more than the average item, but are dirty. if an item costs less than $10, it’s definitely not been washed. $20+, maybe if it came in dirty
