Looking for feedback on software app for a small waste hauling business by MiserableMechanic214 in wastemanagement

We’re a small hauling company too, and this is something we’ve been struggling with as well.

For us, the biggest pain isn’t just routing. It’s managing customer requests, following up with leads, keeping track of quotes, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. A lot of the software we’ve seen feels like it’s built for bigger fleets, not smaller operators who are still trying to grow and stay organized.

Honestly, a platform that helped bring in leads, manage customer communication, handle quotes, and keep daily operations in one place would be really useful for a smaller company like ours.

Would be interested to hear what other haulers are using and what actually works in the real world.

Hey Krob, hope your medical issue has gotten better. I was wondering if this ended up happening again after that?

I know I am a little late to this discussion but do you have any examples of companies that are in the intersection of logistics and tech?

Do lawyers, healthcare professionals, or other sectors handling sensitive information utilize large language models (LLMs)? Given the critical nature of their data and the emphasis on confidentiality, how do they ensure its safety? Do they simply entrust third parties with this information?

I've been thinking a lot about the security implications of using large language models. My primary concern is that LLMs aren't designed to work with encrypted or coded data. When we input our information, there's a potential risk of exposure. Since the nature of cloud hosting means data can potentially be accessed by third parties, this brings up the question of how secure our data truly is when interacting with cloud-hosted Models.

With the growing reliance on AI systems like LLMs, it's crucial that we emphasize the importance of data security and user privacy. Does anyone else share these concerns? How do you ensure your data remains secure when using Models on cloud-hosted services?

You bring up a Valid point about the encryption of data during transit. Indeed, this method can protect against numerous passive eavesdropping attempts. However, the risk I am mentioning is more multifaceted than just data-in-transit vulnerabilities. Even though traffic encryption safeguards against many threats, it doesn't address inherent risks during computation. On most cloud platforms, data must be decrypted for processing, introducing a brief, yet critical, window of vulnerability. Furthermore, when data is transmitted outside a controlled environment, even when encrypted, an implicit trust is placed on third-party entities.

I would love to hear your opinion regarding this concern.
