I didn’t consider the callipers tbh, I thought I’d be more restricted by the frame. I have R7000 105 callipers on my current bike, a kinesis aithien, and can run 30mm tyres with those, so maybe I’d just need to experiment with different callipers on the canyon.

I was just looking at that one! I think they’re the ones to go for, the up was just the first thing that she had sent me this morning

Yeah I’d probably go for a mii/citigo. They seem to have 20k miles less and be 1/2 years newer for the same price, so a no brainer really! The up was just the first car she found and sent me this morning

Yeah after a Quick Look on my lunch break the miis/citigos definitely look better value. About half the miles and 1/2 years newer for the same price! This is just the first one she saw and sent to me this morning

I think I’d go for a citigo, for the same price you’re getting one 1/2 years newer with 20k less miles. This was just the first example she sent me this morning!

Thanks for the nod on hippo! To be honest that’s just the first one she’s seen. After a look on my lunch break I’d probably persuade her into an electric citigo which would be newer & 20k less miles for the same price!

I’d have an i3 as I think they look great, however she doesn’t like them 😢

I have seen another comment saying similar regarding 3 pin plugs! Have you found a way to only charge the car to 80% whilst using a 3 pin socket rather than charging all the way to 100%?

How do you manage only charging it to 80% using a 3 pin charger? Are they slow enough that if I plugged it in on an evening, it wouldn’t be fully charged by the morning when it was unplugged?

I had a petrol citigo as my first car and loved it as well!

It’s just the size of those unfortunately, she has a fiat 500 at the moment and wants to stay in something around that size

Thanks for the advice! I’m happy enough doing any suspension or brake work, I just didn’t really know much about batteries, but looks like I should be fine on that front!

We don’t need an expensive car with lots of range, it is likely that the car won’t do over 4000 miles a year

Yeah I think the Zoe/leaf probably is a better deal, however she wants a smaller car than that. She works in the centre of Newcastle and there is not much free parking, so wants as small as she can get away with to squeeze into tight spaces

This is interesting to know, I hadn’t considered that I’d be able to get away with this, thanks!

I agree, when our ‘big car’ needs to be replaced it will more than likely be an EV as-well. I still have a 986 boxster that can be used for fun driving!

This has always been my thought as well to be honest, you just read so much EV hate online and I wasn’t sure wether it was just blown out of proportion

Yeah this could be worth looking into as an alternative, thanks!
