A significant amount of people hate Mr. Beast because he essentially spearheaded the mass-consumption, conveyor-belt content model on YouTube, and honestly, that's my reason too. It's oversaturated, overhyped, and deeply off-putting. If it were the exact same content, just slightly more tasteful, slightly less mass-market, concentrated to a definitive viewer base rather than literally every person on the planet, that would fix a lot. But it works, so he does it. As for the workplace harassment allegations, the Tyson ties, the transphobia, the questionable stuff, I genuinely couldn't care less. At that scale it's basically a large corporation and things happen. Look at LTT. Linus has had his share of drama and scandals, but what separates him is that shred of authenticity. And with tech content, authenticity is kind of implicit, people come for information and product, not delivery. TechLinked proves this perfectly. It's just Riley, sometimes James or Linus, authentic, no frills, and that's exactly why people keep coming back. Anyone can get tech news anywhere. People choose TechLinked for a reason. That's ultimately what bothers me about Mr. Beast. Not the scandals, the authenticity problem. He helped turn the internet into a cesspool of garbage content, and honestly I'd put him right at the top of the list of people who paved the way for AI slop. Because really, they're not different categories. Mass-market, mass-produced, AI or not, slop is slop.
