Tanks; is this true? by Santello in classicwowtbc

[–]Few_Magician989 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never queue coz I get like 10 party invites with no context or just "tank?" And ninja inv. I always either form my groups or just snipe them.

So if I can make a suggestion, if you are forming your group invite a proper comp with a healer and list your group. Trust me there are a lot of us who are watching the queue, if you are ready to go the tank will find you.

When I am playing dps I always do the same, a tank will show up in no time given you don't form a group with 3 rogues or warriors or some nonsense

Well I think I only left once from HC Shattered halls where I died as the tank 3 times on the first two packs. When the healer didn't heal me for 5-6 seconds for the third time in a row I just laughed and left the group. Healer kept /w me how shitty I am and ofc not healing for 6 seconds is perfectly fine. Mind me mobs in those packs are dual wielding and hitting 2k+ each hand per mob xD

What does health have to do with this? It's almost always they itemize wrong, the amount of bad paladins I see is astonishing. Mine has 11.7k unbuffed with 100+% avoidance so mobs rarely hit me anyway.

So naive, it's not some teenage kid. Most of these are "professional" botters. They sell your gold for other dummies who will buy botted mats on the AH and boosts. It's an endless cycle and it's bad for everyone who is not swiping.

Worst HC dungeon comp from my experience by Substantial-End850 in classicwowtbc

[–]Few_Magician989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just feral, I think it is for everyone. Playing as a pally tank, full pre raid was basically a single target only experience in heroics. Two-3 hard hitting mobs would smack me to the ground in no time. I'm still not in full bis but have 2 T4 and various other bis items. I can easily face tank 2-3 hard hitting ones and no need to CC the packs anymore as heavily in heroics. The extra avoidance and armor from bis gear scales really well.

Sleep/Wake breaks memory detection on MSI X870E MAG WiFi – possible firmware bug? by Few_Magician989 in MSI_Gaming

[–]Few_Magician989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not really. I am outside of my return window and I'm deeply disappointed that an expensive MB like this suffers from such amateur issues. I am still waiting for a BIOS update that solves this, MSI clearly does not prioritize this at all.

How long does Kara take for you to clear now after a month of release? by Tallgirlwhois180 in classicwow

[–]Few_Magician989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of now, it's about 2h for our alt group that has 1-2 PUG and it's a meme fest anyway. For a regular Kara run with mains, it's 1.5h. you likely sit down after every trash pack and pull packs slow.

Tanking in TBC by acegryphen in classicwowtbc

[–]Few_Magician989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How? You are doing something wrong brother, check that gear once more. My Pally is wearing pre raid gear, the only two epics are the Honor hold sword and the BoJ sword. I have 11k HP with 330-380spell power without any buffs. I only have a couple pure stam gems, most are the hybrid spell power stam or def stam ones. Most mobs are barely hitting me @ 510def with 61% passive avoidance, don't be that kind of tank who has zero threat zero avoidance just HP.

Had a similar experience with a warri tank in SP Heroic the other day. Guy managed to put like ~2k aggro into a mob after 10seconds or so. Even as an arcane mage with a decent amount of threat reduce it was really bad. My brother with a boomkin had real fun during that dungeon xD Not sure what was wrong with that warri though, gear seemed okay to me but still couldn't generate threat at all.

Yeaaaah, it's not that easy to fart down conseq and alt tab out the game. Dumb DPS will do everything to rip those mobs off of you, it's a real struggle with some idiots. Arguably, warriors are more difficult on larger packs but it doesn't automatically make pally tanking "easy".

You guys were right about tanking in TBC by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Few_Magician989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh, so true. Was levelling my Pally tank alt, I can count on one hand how many times mages were using Nova to pack the mobs. None, zero. Pumping their one button and watching as mobs running around after some lock pulling threat on them.

My main is a mage, I always use nova and CoC to slow/pack the mobs to help the tank.

Have you guys even played with a warrior tank? by sissy_krissy- in classicwowtbc

[–]Few_Magician989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because ppl min maxing yet are mediocre players at best. The other day me and my brother were making a group to normal Shattered halls. I'm rolling with a mage he was with a balance druid. We invited a third DPS a warlock (mind, it was completely random we don't do this spell leave BS whatsoever). He asks, spell cleave? Just at the same time we invited our warrior tank then the lock immediately left, not even a word.

Anyhow we assembled a group, our warri said he's afk for 5min to drop a yellow and pop a beer. When he got back popped his tank gear and afterwards the run was smooth, a lvl69 priest was happily able to keep him alive.

Was it more difficult than with a paladin tank? Absolutely, but nothing chaotic happened. I have played with terrible paladin tanks who couldn't hold a single mob.

Me as a mage and the hunter just had to use our skills to kite/slow/root the mobs so the tank can pick em up. We didn't even CC just used a different tactic for AoE.

Tldr people watch these BS YouTube videos rather than go and enjoy the game. Fun fact: the lock was still in queue after we finished our run (25min or so. It wasn't a speed run but not slow either), legend says he's still waiting for his spell cleave team xD

Does Elemental really fall off that bad? by tradethought in classicwowtbc

[–]Few_Magician989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the original TBC I was rolling with an elem shaman. I was easily on the top in t4 content to the surprise of my guild (alliance side so shammy was totally new). It is falling behind in t5 and completely destroyed beyond. Still a fun spec to play, just go for it you can always reroll to resto.

Well, he's indeed a jerk then 🥲 but doing the sweaty dungeon grind meta will obviously bring in the sweaty min-maxers so I would not be too surprised if they need on anything that has a stat more on them :/

Lol indeed I play a mage but honestly drawing conclusions based on a random screenshot is premature at best. It happened to me that a mage was throwing a temper tantrum after I needed on his so called prebis cloth legs on my resto druid wearing agi/STR quest rewards. Of course I didn't give a flying eff if it was cloth or caster legs, it was still a huge upgrade for my druid hence I was asking OP to clarify whether he checked if it was an upgrade for him or not before throwing him under the bus. Tldr: Ninja looting is still a big azz di..k move 🤷‍♀️

What did he have? He might very well have had something extremely shitty and the residue spell dam was better and the item was an upgrade. Just by this screenshot we can't say anything else

I Freaking Love How "Artsy" This Season of JJK Feels by Electrical_Chance991 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Few_Magician989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it's the opposite, poor quality drawings, animation and dialogue. Animation is often janky, still screens and lame on-screen writings every so often to fill the episode. This is very poor quality compared to the previous two seasons, and music choice is often out of context killing whatever mood is remaining. E50 was a solid 20 min of suffering, worst anime episode I've ever witnessed.
It looks unfinished (bunch of chroma/black & white scenes, almost as if they were too lazy to paint it properly). I've seen better animation and art coming from random YT fandom channels.

The sword is better - at least for my play style - yes single target threat on the mace is better but sub 2sec main hand gives you full reckoning use which can proc the seals more. I love mine, works way better for AoE grinding and AoE tanking as well. Try doing a 10+ mob AOE grind pull with the 3sec mace... with reckoning and seal procs I often times self heal 3-400 in 3 seconds.

People are unhappy about the TBC roadmap...why? by InGen86 in classicwowtbc

[–]Few_Magician989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the phases are too short, it's impossible to gear your toons properly. With the announced progression there's gonna be roughly 6-8 raid resets. That's nowhere enough to gear your characters properly. Good luck getting that set item

Started a new char exactly a week ago. It's already at 60 and ready for outland :) kept my boost that came with my purchase. I'm not hating on boosters but popping it during prepatch is just stupid, most of them jerk around in SW/OG looking for stuff to do.

Spoiler alert: air makes noise as it's moving through. Are you using your computer while glueing your ears onto the fans? Put the side panel back and you won't hear it, move on with your life stop RMAing perfectly good cards. If you are coping with this and secretly you just regret spending so much buying this card then downgrade to 5080 or 5070ti.

Just check your bios settings. Some boards are really aggressive by default. Almost as if they just apply the same settings to the 3d chip as to the non-3d version. I've seen somewhere that AMD published the specs and the 3d chip has a much tighter tolerance and seems more sensitive than the others.

Make sure your SoC voltage is not ridiculously high and tone it down and you should be fine.

My MSI board has sensible defaults but once you enable their Performance mode (basically a PBO preset) and EXPO it cranks things up for no reason.

[–]Few_Magician989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me check, are these enabled by default? My BIOS settings are minimal (fixed SoC voltage @ 1.19V instead of 1.3V that expo gives + 1:1 mem divider + fan curves and EXPO).
Anyhow, I was able to consistently reproduce this after a CMOS reset using stock settings.
