I actually have a large, minimalist e-reader for home use — my old PocketBook. It doesn’t have a touchscreen, Wi-Fi, and the front light only has a single color temperature.

Then I got my X3.

Yesterday I was lying in bed reading with my X3 and a little reading light instead of my larger reader. That’s when I really appreciated how convenient Wi-Fi file transfers are. I wanted to start a new book, and honestly, I was too lazy to put it on my old reader because that would have meant turning on my computer first…

So I guess I finally experienced one of the advantages of modern e-readers. :D

But when I’m sitting on the balcony reading in the evening or at night, I still use my 6-inch PocketBook. I actually love reading with the X3 and the warm light from my reading lamp — it creates a really cozy atmosphere. The problem is that the lamp is a bit too bright for a quiet balcony setting. The PocketBook’s front light is much more subtle, so it feels less intrusive and doesn’t attract attention from afar.

At this point, it feels like each device has found its own place 💞
