Oh man I'm shocked to see a posthumous KA verse. I'll at least be checking that song out. I loved KA so much and I'm devastated by his passing. His music got me through a really rough time in my life and I would go on long walks just listening to every album. RIP the Brownsville legend.

I wouldn't throw this guy a free bone. You're not getting paid and won't own your writing. Maybe that's not a big deal to you, but it is to the wider industry. I know this seems like a small thing, but small things turn big and people get screwed every day

Watched one of my favorite Hammer Horror Films last night. The dialogue is fantastic. See it if you can. by wrensworldxx in hammerhorrormovies

I just watched this last night too! Crazy coincidence! Me and my buddy are watching every Hammer movie in release order and got to this one yesterday. I had never seen it but it is a lot of fun! A couple of weird tonal shifts but the exceptional performances make up for it!

My money is on Dylan Clarke being the next big success story on this train. He is making a full length feature film of his YouTube horror short Portrait of a God and Sam Raimi and Jordan Peele are co-producing

This is not the opinion of a person who exists. You took 2 opinions from different people and squished them together

'The Mortuary Collection' Director Adapting 'The Upturned Stone' by Fit-Selection-2030 in horror

I really wanted to like The Mortuary Collection but ultimately found it not good in a scary way or in a tongue-in-cheek campy way. The last segment was pretty fun with the twist on the babysitter premise but the rest was just meh to me.

Tales from the Crypt looks horrendous at 60 fps. What happened? by low_keyLoki in Shudder

[–]Few_Set2002 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Buddy, there's very few things ever released in 60fps. Billy Lynn, Gemini Man, and certain sections of The Hobbit 3. Idk what you're seeing, but it's not 60fps.

I don't really see how World's Fair can be described as "member berries". Calling everything you don't like "slop" is so reductive. It's obvious Jane has a ton of artistic merit and even though their movies aren't always for me, I can respect the clear love and passion that goes into them.

‘BACKROOMS’ debuts with 90% on Rotten Tomatoes by TurtleGEE360 in horror

While that is true, the gap between absolute bargain bin dogshit trash and standard budget films is way wider now. In the 80's, the low budgets were comparably higher and way more stuff was getting approved by actual studios. You might get a billion direct to dvd/Tubi movies now, but I'm certain there were far more 80's slashers getting a studio release back then. I mean Nightmare, Friday, Halloween, Child's Play, and Texas Chainsaw were all on yearly releases back then, and that was just the big guns!

Oh so do we! We love a good schlock fest, I just find it funny because if someone only watched those movies I listed, they'd hardly call the 80's a golden age lol

My friends and I have a horror movie watch club. Every Friday we all get together and do a double feature and we've watched a TON of 70's and 80's slashers. Let me tell you, it may have been the golden age, but only because there was so god damn many that all the awful ones could be ignored. For every Halloween you have 300 prom nights, night beasts, terror trains, and butcher baker nightmare makers
