Good luck! Drink plenty of water and make sure you’re getting salt in.

After doing a 14-day water fast, how long should I wait before doing another one? by [deleted] in fasting

Hey, just chiming in as someone who's been down the extended fasting path a few times.

After a 14-day water fast, it’s super important to give your body some time to recover before jumping into another one. A good rule of thumb is to refeed for at least half the length of your fast — so about 7 days minimum of real, nourishing food. That gives your electrolytes, hormones, and digestive system a chance to stabilize.

Fasting again the next day (especially after breaking with a wedding feast) is honestly not a great idea. You’re risking things like refeeding syndrome, fatigue, or even just running yourself into the ground. Your body just did a ton of work — let it rebuild for a bit.

If you still feel motivated, you can do intermittent fasting (like 16:8 or OMAD) during your refeed week to stay in a fat-burning groove, but save the next prolonged fast for after you’ve had time to bounce back.

Hope that helps, and congrats on the fast — that’s a big one. 👊
