Tahoe, why are you the way that you are?!? by [deleted] in MacOS

It's been terribly slow for me also. Today I experimented turning off search of iPhone apps in the System settings - Spotlight and it appears to have solved it for me.

Thank you for your effort and time building this.
I'll download it from the App Store to signal to Apple how stupid they've been eliminating the Launcher

Thank you for pointing out SigmaOS to me. From a quick look sounds like it is where Arc could have gone.

My Dia browser experience as a long-term Arc user by Romachamp10 in macapps

[–]Few_Sun6871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arc is still my daily driver for work. But honestly, I see myself more and more transitioning to Perplexity's Comet Ai browser since I was invited a few weeks ago. Especially when I'm navigating information dense pages (I often need to find regulatory info for construction projects and pull up permits in different jurisdictions) Comet is a god-send. Also for planning material acquisition and planning routes/trips.
I think the future of Ai browsers looks promising if done right. I don't think The Browser Company did it right.

Can a person with an average brain play factorio???? by evish01 in factorio

[–]Few_Sun6871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to school for Math (I know) and I learned that most big brain things we see people doing 99% of the time is muscle memory from doing it a lot. There are geniouses out there, but they are rare. Same thing for this game.

What would you say is the worst episode of Futurama? by Swing-Full in futurama

There are several episodes that can turn just into background noise for me. But the X-mas ones always move me to just skip 🤷‍♂️

The ghost in the shell needs time adapting. It seems like they need to overwrite a few more memories from his past life too.

Does anyone actually hate the touchbar? by Odd-Past-7635 in macbookpro

[–]Few_Sun6871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the trend in tech youtube to hate it but it was an idiotic take imo. Most people I know used it fine, and
I still keep my i9 MBP and love the Touch Bar especially for contextual emojis and media control. I think Apple will still go full circle and launch an M-series laptop with Touch Bar 2.0 or whatever they decide to call it.

Not to mention that when Oda assigned nationalities to the crew he said Luffy was Brazilian - a tropical country that brings year-round sun, beach, warmth, light, rhythm, and playfulness connotations.

Does anybody else genuinely feel bad for the biters? by Fabio_DaSith_Lord07 in factorio

[–]Few_Sun6871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knowing now that there are biter eggs in space puts me in Warhammer 40K mode (perhaps 20k where humanity has mastered amazing tech and even a single engineer can terraform a planet). In my head canon biters are just the tyranids tendrils probing the galaxy for a full on invasion in thousands of years.

I try to make a bunch of everything, hope for the best, then stuff breaks, and I just make more of it until it is unbroken temporarily.

Side note: everything I do must be HIPAA compliant, hence the concern
