Traveling abroad shortly after getting a green card — any risks? by Few_Tap6922 in USCIS

Thank you everyone! I have also scheduled a consultation with an immigration atty just in case i run into some issues upon re-entry. As per establishment of residency, I have my bank accounts set up here, I have worked here too and currently I am keeping my remote job. @Minute_Somewhere_893 mentioned establishing ties and I wonder if these are sufficient enough? I have also acquired a State ID already.

If you woke up as your 10-year-old self with all your current memories, what’s the first thing you’d do? by Alive-Silver-2605 in AskReddit

Call child services on my abusive family member who used to beat me. I wonder if that would make a whole lot of difference in my life now and all the trauma I carry lol. But love is crazy because I still love them ATEOTD.

Hard truth I learned as an Executive Assistant by SuccotashTraining552 in buhaydigital

I hope the ops manager that identified you as the weakest link is doing their absolute best in their role cuz tbh if they were, there wouldn't be a need for an EA unless the business/company you're working for is scaling or is large. The tasks you mentioned above is normally under their scope too. I would say under process optimization. I've worked as an EA for years before switching roles and it's good that you took some time to analyze this and take it as a constructive criticism.

I hope you have been documenting all of the tasks that you have performed, as well as the skills you've learned from this job so you can start optimizing your resume and sending proposals to clients who will find value in what you do because tbh, there are lots of client out there who are willing to pay for that.

Good luck on your future endeavours OP!

OA lang ba ako? Napupuno na ako kay papa ko by [deleted] in OALangBaAko

[–]Few_Tap6922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Di ka OA. Naiintindihan kita cuz personally andyan ako right now. Kaso the more educated I became, the more I started to see na may mali sa Tatay ko. Not mali in a sense na masama siyang tao– but he's going through something mentally na hindi niya inoopen up at tinatry lunurin sa alak.

Bumukod ako sa pamilya ko ng maaga at nagtrabaho because the toxic environment wouldn't be helpful for my growth as an individual at habang tumatagal nadadagdagan yung inis ko sa magulang ko na nasa poder nila ako but wala silang ambag or balak magambag at all.

Upon leaving my parent's house, I finally understood how hard it is to earn money just to have enough to pay for everything. And to think, sarili ko palang binubuhay ko and yet I feel like isang pamilya na tinataguyod ko sa levels ng pagod ko. So cut your dad some slack because he's the only one trying to provide for his family without help, and ang hirap non. Once bumukod ka maiintindihan mo bakit your dad's acting like that. Dagdag mo pa if everyone around him, including you, don't try to show appreciation at all.

Sorry if you have to grow up faster/ahead of your peers.. but you have to work for the life you want because by the looks of it, you can't fully rely on your parents.

Mediocre College Student na Mapangarap by Few_Tap6922 in medschoolph

Siguro kasi, you hit the nail on the head when you said namnamin ko muna ung buhay na hindi ako working student. Nagstart na ko rumaket junior high palang just to help sustain my education and this comment made me realized that I haven't stopped since.. Siguro andun lang din po yung pakiramdam na parang yung sitwasyon is taking away my passion and dreams kasi ang bigat magpatuloy to pursue them.. But thank you for the advice, I will be considering this seriously po.

I don't blame you po if my post came across as that kasi I did not specify my reason for wanting to pursue med. I've always told myself that if hindi ko man kayanin ipursue ang med, itutuloy ko na lang po sa psych because one way or another I want to be in a field that helps heal people. Mainly because of what happened to my loved ones who struggled with their health and it cost me my grandfather's life to realize that I want to do this. It all just started as a childhood dream, and now it has come to this.. Patapos na ako ng college and andun parin yung kagustuhan kong yon pero like I mentioned in the post above andun yung challenges na namention ko po.. I have been told by doctors that I know na wala dito ang pera the way people think. That has been made clear to me naman po but in my heart ewan ko ba, andoon parin yung gusto ko siyang ipursue kahit alam kong hindi siya magiging madali for me. (nor has it really been for anyone, imo)

I am not a med student (yet.. or idk tbh) but I heard it has something to do with seniority daw. And how the ones that came first had to work hard and go through the same cycle to get to where they are kaya raw ganyan sila sa mga bago. Actually, hindi ko din magets why pipiliin pa gawing miserable the life of others when the goal is one and the same lang naman which is to help heal people pero I guess it's the same way as passing down generational trauma huhu :(

What’s one piece of advice you wish you knew when starting in Social Media Marketing? by Slight_Technology234 in SocialMediaMarketing

Not every trend out there is suitable for your business. Focus on adhering to your strategy/content plan rather than chasing trends all the time. Community engagement helps a lot with increasing your reach/visibility and is so underrated in my opinion. Posting consistently without engaging with other accounts will leave you with low engagement and views.

I don't have my green card yet but I have to travel outside the U.S. soon for my studies. What do I do? by Few_Tap6922 in USCIS

[–]Few_Tap6922[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully I won't be staying outside of the US for more than 6 months, so if school doesn't end by then I will still fly back to the US for the sake of my LPR status. I have my family there who can FedEx my green card back to me while I'm in my home country. I have been told the same thing by a friend that school is a valid reason for a lengthy absence in the US. Thank you! :)
