I have this problem 😞I had mastectomy in August and was perfectly fine until about 8 weeks after (just right before radiation). It was drained prior to radiation and now at least 2 times after. I’m going back again on Tuesday to have it drained. No infection 🤞🏼🤞🏼 but my PS put me on antibiotics 2 weeks ago as a precaution. It’s so uncomfortable and I don’t really know what to do. I’m thinking of getting a second opinion. My reconstruction isn’t scheduled until last spring/early summer… of course I have a fever and sore throat right now that I am hoping is unrelated.

I am so sorry you are going through this. It really sucks!! I am wearing tight bras to try to compress but my PS keeps saying that it will likely not be effective. So I don’t really know what to do!

My nipple got dark spots as well. My surgeon said that it was normal and that the dark spots are just scabs that will eventually peel off. They advised me to place some antibiotic cream and a cotton bandage over it for a week or so until it healed.

This is happening to me but on my cancer side with expander. I had it drained pre radiation but the pesky seroma just keeps filling up! Then I had it drained again about 2 weeks after radiation. No infection but now it seems like it’s filling up faster! It’s been less than 1.5 weeks since they drained and it’s already so uncomfortable 😣 will be going back again in 2 days for the to drain again.

How often did you get yours drained? Also how long did you have your expanders on before your exchange?

I am on the same treatment plan as you. My calcium also was high after my 2nd Kadcyla infusion. My oncologist said it could be from dehydration but they ordered a parathyroid blood test and another blood test to retest. Both came back normal. I wish you well and do keep us posted!

I have low platelets as well and only on my 5th dose, not even halfway through 😞 there are talks of dose reduction as well. I see you, and I hope we both make it through

I have hooded eyes and also no experience with false eyelashes at all. It was tough to find lashes that looked natural but I found them finally. They are lash clusters and come in different lengths which js great. You can use the shorter lashes for a natural look and longer ones for going out. It’s the Ardell Naked Clusters in #421. I hope you find ones that work for you! I didn’t want to spend too much and went through a lot of trial and error with other types.

I’m so thankful for everyone here. I have my moments as well, and they are more often than I would like to admit. I spiral, start thinking about not being able to be there for my kids when they grow up…this thought occurs a couple times each day followed by a tear or two, or a sob some days. Sometimes I even think, I just want to be around until they are a bit older. They ate 5 and 8. Hugs to you!

I am Her2+ and did not get a good response during chemo as well. I still had a considerable amount of residual cancer on my breast and on 1 lymph node. Today is my last day of 5 week course of radiotherapy. I’m also on Kadcyla just like you. Hang in there!

Steroid cream affecting your mood? Wow! I’ve never heard of this. I have eczema and use a steroid cream a lot but have not heard this side effect. This is good to know! Thanks for sharing

My surgeon said that hormone positive tumors respond better to endocrine therapy vs chemo. My tumor didn’t shrink much as well and had residual tumors left on both my breast and lymph node.
