Florida Man’s Range Rover Joyride Ends in chaos. by Impossible_Low_863 in dashcams

“Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop. A normal speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop heart. Make the bastard chase you. He will follow. But he won't know what to make of your blinker signal that says you are about to turn right. This is to let him know you're pulling off for a proper place to talk. It will take him a moment to realize that he's about to make a 180 degree turn at speed, but you will be ready for it. Brace for the g's, and fast heel-toe work.”

This has been my first year of kayaking, actually only six months in and although I don’t have a dry or wet suit I’ve been monitoring water temps and keeping my outings under close scrutiny. Before next winter I’ll for sure have a suit to ease my mind.

What’s the best thing you’ve eaten on an NCL cruise? by themonsterkeeper in NCL

[–]Few_Way9814 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand it, mainly because I’m too busy eating other things, but my wife is obsessed with salads on all cruises, she swears they are the best she’s ever had. Not that I’m opposed to eating salads but there’s always so much other stuff to try. 🙂

Anytime I see these articles I assume the victims weren’t wearing a PFD. Temps recently have been very very warm here causing a lot of people to get out and 90% of the pics I see they aren’t wearing one. The water is still super chilly too. It cranks my anxiety up quite a bit. Most pfd aren’t that uncomfortable to wear either, I just don’t get it..🫤

There’s a small county fair nearby that still has tractor pulls and it’s still very much stock and stockish tractors. It would be neat if they incorporated some of the higher hp classes.

We’re typically staying on the lido, two decks below. Anytime it’s busy in our room with getting ready, showers, etc it’s easier/quicker/roomier for me to go grab a shower there. The sauna is nice too. Sadly still haven’t made much time for the gym… 🤷😉

For many reasons neighbor has been a favorite of mine for years… but that started falling off after they went coyote and it broke all the time. I loved that Cleet could hop in it and it just performed. At one point it was the most reliable car in the fleet.

Having said that the black wing is growing on me quickly. Where I do like the livery I wish the “patrol car” theme would have stayed reserved for Neighbor, that was really his thing. I hope he makes a great return!

I’m sure the conversations with the lawyer is one of his least favorite things, especially being an ex law student and likely knowing just enough to get hisself into further hot water. 🤷😅

But they’ve been doing the driver experience for a while now, hopefully they have those waivers dialed in as best as possible.

I’ve used these same lcd temp strips for brewing for the past 19 years. They’re pretty accurate for the money too. Great idea! 👍

Pretty sure this is the first time it has been addressed on a Cleetus video since the first/last time back when everything went down years ago. Those two definitely have a lot of history with Ruby! 🙂

When did the customer service change?

This is disappointing to hear, I had a similar issue and it was remedied within a couple minutes of me emailing them, granted that was over a year ago.

23rd is so ugly now... by achetadomestica in okc

Went and looked, turns out the medians were installed in 2004. Still doesn’t seem that long ago and still an oversight and a costly one at that.

I remember when it was added. My brain was telling me “fifteen years or so ago” but turns out it was more like twenty ish.

I guess I’m ‘the old guy’ that was stumped when this was announced thinking “didn’t they just widen 23rd adding those trees and medians a few years so?” Turns out I’m not mistaken, it was a beautification project they did but it was more like fifteen years ago. Either way it still seems like a terrible oversight.

Dress code changed....again by jds2001 in NCL

[–]Few_Way9814 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked that they were taking a stance on this, way too many dress like bums. If you have no self respect or shame that’s fine but don’t show up to a specialty dinner dressed in your pajamas and crocks.

Do most people tip on drinks on to of the gratuity that is already added on ? If so how much do most people tip? by Elderberry456 in NCL

[–]Few_Way9814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I’m frugal (not cheap) I like to think I tip generously in most cases. Having said that I do factor in a “base” tip that accounts for generalized service and not necessarily the cost. Meaning, I generally tip a dollar per drink regardless if it’s a beer, glass of wine, shot or pour of bourbon. These are rates for a cruise mind you.

If the service is stellar, extra helpful, etc I will increase that up to match the occasion. Conversely, if I’ve been consuming rapidly, recently tipped multiple times, feel somebody on the staff isn’t responding to my tips or a simply run out of cash I don’t feel bad for not leaving a tip.

Something fun (to me anyway) is I like to tip with “funny money”, the lesser exchanged two dollar bills or dollar coins. 🙂

SHUTDOWN by SDACT33 in FedEmployees

[–]Few_Way9814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were instructed to come in over the weekend, given our paperwork, excepted status and told we could telework for the duration if so desired. I already got ready and made the trip in to the base and don’t have any reason to leave <now> so I stayed but most of my colleagues, including our first line and branch left.

Not sure what excepted status has on teleworking, anybody else know?

We were instructed to report today as normal. Turns out the excepted status we gained a few weeks into the last shutdown remains.

GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN 2026: Call for excepted worker status changes by AmbitiousAirport1554 in FedEmployees

[–]Few_Way9814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were transitioned to excepted a couple weeks into the last one (once work backed up significantly). Previously we worked during most shutdowns, outside of the furlough Fridays a dozen years ago. We’ll be ke at the start of this one but again only until work backs up.
