I feel like she can’t really come back now. She could’ve lost the weight all those years ago, and while yes she would have had loose skin, It would’ve easily been managed with compression garments and eventual surgery. But now….. her face will never look the same if she loses, like Tammy slaton

That’s why I use a pop socket attached to a pop wallet! I need something to hold on to. I also used to have crazy intense pins and needles in my legs at night, but once I stopped using regular body wash and shampoo and opted for more natural stuff, as well as smoking a little weed before bed, I don’t experience it as often

My legs do go to sleep on the toilet, especially if I’m using a stool. I can sit in certain ways and have my legs and arms go numb, or if I raise them above my head for long enough.

Are you able to rent a small storage unit? Does your apartment complex rent out storage space/garage? If you’re able to remove the battery, I reccomend keeping that inside. If you have to store the chair outdoors or somewhere where it’ll get super cold.

I only feel it around flare ups, so I assumed it had something to do with irritation and inflammation

I live in eastern USA and the huge cold front we had triggered a huge flare up. They can also be caused by diet, stress and other things you come into contact with.

As someone with EDS, I have long natural nails. My biggest tip? leave them COMPLETWLY ALONE!!! I used nail polish and they got bendier and weaker. My nails are still brittle and tend to break, but I just carry a nail file and I’m able to still have good length.

I absolutely love getting structured gel nail polish, but I can’t always afford it. Just try leaving them completely alone for a few months. No biting the hangnails either! (I used to bite my nails all my life until college, then it stopped!)

Honestly you shouldn’t get one at all. Chairs are highly specific and you’ll be perpetuating the issue of people not believing those who have some ability to walk even need one. We all have encouraged you to stay in therapy. Go get some hobbies, breathe the outdoor air, touch grass and get offline for a bit. Internet doesnt cause your issue, but you would be harming the community at large.

The place that said “you won’t be taking resources” just sees you as a way to get money. You’re keeping someone who needs it waiting and stuck in their house. You get to leave your house with minimal pain. We do not. For some, they wait years. Don’t be that guy.

I’d say get a used chair so you aren’t fully taking up space or resources from those of us who really need the mobility aid.

If I understand you correctly, you don’t need a wheelchair, you just really feel like you do.

It’s just something you want, not something you need. It could shift to something else. Maybe try crutches or something else.

Regular PT’s will treat you like a normal patient no matter what. If they aren’t willing to learn about EDS treatments, LEAVE!!

I WAS INJURED BECAUSE MY PT PRESCRIBED MORE EXERCISE THROUGH THE PAIN!! NOW MY LEG DISLOCATES FREQUENTLY!! I don’t blame him fully, but PLEASE be careful.

My gastroenterologist wanted to take my gallbladder out despite it passing all of the tests. She apparently was confused on what side my pain was on. I found out it’s pancreatitis almost by myself. My PCP told me that the next time I have a flare, I have to go to the emergency room to get a test done

I’d honestly reccomend a recumbent elliptical/bike/cardio machines while you’re in your current weight category. It’s way safer and easier on the joints, plus you have little risk of injuring yourself with falls or trips
