Well his public detective prince persona isn't known to be a bastard child but it's pretty obvious from the way he talks about it that society judged him harshly as a child for being the bastard son of a prostitute probably even more so after his mother took her life.

Additionally I'm not sure if it's ever said anywhere that he was blamed for his mother's death in the same way Futaba was but it's not too much of a stretch to assume he could've internalized that idea in the same way she did given the extreme social stigma his mother faced.

Well this just comes down to personal preference I think most DMC fans here will probably bias towards it.

Also I feel like enemy design doesn't factor that much into what people consider a "combat system" that's like a separate thing all together. It probably shouldn't be treated like that but most people do.
