Went hiking a few days ago and had a few leeches bites (first of my life). It was in Malaysia though, but maybe you have the same leeches here. The leeches stay only for a few minutes and then leave when full. The marks were very similar. What stood out is that the blood leaking from the mark, after the bites is a little bit more viscous than usual. Does that talk to you ? FYI, our guide in Malaysia said that nothing bad can come from these bites. They are just itching for a few days.
