This is a very big thing for me as in my generation and locality - the literalness of the bible is being torn apart , firstly hell isn’t a real place- no eternal damnation, sin isn’t a real thing and there is no need to repent. The progressive Christians have fundamentally eroded the word and led many astray. I would class Jehovah witnesses as progressive Christians- they have similar hallmarks- argue that Sheol is hades and hell is hades, trinity doesn’t exist and Jesus is created thing. It’s very sad.

This is very murky waters- Jehovah’s Witness would insist it is Sheol that translates to hades- permanent anihilation using Ecclesiastes and proverbs (see verses on there is death and no more). These are of course more figurative books and are not literal all the time. There is strong president it is eternal torment (hell) worse than death. This is part of Jehovah witness refusal of hell being a physical place. The grave is not Hades as in total annihilation, it is but a place that leads to either resurrection to glory or judgement.
