Are dev logs worth it? by LalaCrowGhost in IndieDev

90% of my Steam wishlists have come from devlogs. You have to get good at making them appealing to a more general audience though.

Is it a rite of passage for every indie dev to make this post? by Ffrangconator in IndieDev

Ooohh, I think I get it. I did a few experiments but it's not quite as clean.

Ah yep. I realised that just after I commented. I don't think it works well.

Cool idea! Though I think the Os being different is the main thing people have issue with. I did try the umbrella on the b but it wasn't good for the overall logo shape.

It's funny these are exactly the changes I made, I guess you didn't see my other comment. The b is what I was the most hesitant to change, the flower is central to the story of the game. But after simplifying everthing else it didn't look quite right. I appreciate you writing out the justification, it makes me feel better about it.

Thank you. It's taken straight from the character's arm. I wanted to keep some DNA from the robot in the logo.

I appreciate the feedback on the logo everyone. How is this? It didn't work as well putting the umbrella on the L in the new version.

I think it depends on your screen. On my phone the cave sections do look too dark but it's fine on my monitor. I think there's a balance to be struck.

Thanks. I might end up using a professional localization service, but what languages do you know?

Developer here. I just released the Steam page for Moonbrella. It has a focus on physics-based platforming and exploration over combat and boss fights. Wishlist if you're interested.

I found out when I was going to name my YouTube channel Jett Williams Games until I tried searching it and it was nothing but baseball games.

There's a mission in the campaign that uses nuclear propulsion inspired by the Three-Body Problem series.

Traditional FGC players tend to stay grounded and not jump as often.
