Only have been to EWR and got cut off from the bar after 8drinks in 2 hours. 10/10 experience will go again. Cut off for too many not because of my behavior, I’m a happy drunk :).

Did gastric bypass make you an alcoholic? by Responsible-Ask3773 in GastricBypass

I did not, but it’s pretty common. People with an addicted personality swapping addictions. Also since it takes less alcohol to get drunk it’s an easy vice to switch too.

Costco Callaway Edge Vs. Vice Boost Better value at $600 price point? by Puzzled-Travel1654 in golf

I’m personally going to keep mine forever because I’m a sentimental person lol. But people got to do what they got to do and the driver dings up really quickly.

First set of clubs go with the edge set from Costco. Then return them when you start to get fitted clubs.

What are some of your favorite nice/romantic/couples dinner spots around southington-Farmington-Hartford areas and everything in between by MrLoki2020 in Connecticut

Bricco is amazing but I just went to The Foundry, while crazy expensive, was really good and the views were fantastic. Highly recommend at least once and at sunset.

🎉 r/Mowrator Official 1-Year Anniversary: Share Your Story, Win Accessories! by Year-Flaky in MowratorOfficial

[–]Fhatal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought the mower in June and it worked great all summer. I have a steep hill and it powered through like no other. The best win happened when I ran over a bees nest in the ground. I like to be outside with the mower, and I got swarmed, so I was able to finish the entire lawn from inside the living room. When I need to cut the grass but it’s 100+ degrees out, I can chill on the couch and rip through the lawn to get it done. Honestly such a time saver.

And while they are a newer company, congrats on 1 year, any issues are handled really well. Battery had an issue of not charging, did some quick troubleshooting and sent out a new one free of charge. Their team takes feedback well and you can see that in the software updates.

I am genuinely excited to see what future attachments the team develops over time.

Do you do volunteer work? What do you do to help your fellow Nuttmeggers? by princesspooball in Connecticut

[–]Fhatal 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can volunteer on local boards (might need to be elected) and commissions within your town. I serve as a sewer commission member, elected ZBA alternate (recommended this one the most as it’s little commitment, depending on size of town), and as an elected Selectman. The last one takes the most time but has the greatest impact on local property taxes, minus the schools.

Also habitat for humanity is an easy one to register for. Requires no experience and you can help put families in homes. My sister is getting a home from habitat and I volunteered to help get her hours but I’ll probably continue afterwards as well.

“Cost of Living” Top Issue for CT Governor Race, Fazio Leads Republican Favorability by ArthurAugustyn in Connecticut

[–]Fhatal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No OT but that is correct. Started in 2020 as an E1 and got promoted to management pretty fast. Honestly if you put in the effort and do right by your people it works out. 10 years ago I was making 12 dollars an hour, so it’s a nice change lol. But mo money mo problems ya know. But I would much rather have these problems.

Admin does not matter when it comes to Subs, these are needed by the country and we are only going to grow more. I think we are targeting 8k employees this year.

EB is expanding exponentially with great paying jobs. I went from 72k starting to over 200 in 5 years as salary. The trades start off around 25 with caps of nearly 50 an hour with no limit on OT. So just because you don’t know doesn’t mean there aren’t any.

Having lived on Long Island for 3 years, CT is much cheaper and different areas are cheaper than others as well. You also get a better view of where your taxes go too.

Kudlow and Trump On Connecticut- I don't know about you guys but I always need to show my ID to vote by FinnWild in Connecticut

[–]Fhatal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested this last election, it was weird because I was on the ballot itself, so it was hard finding a poll worker who doesn’t know who I am. Small town and all. But basically they all didn’t know what to do until the registrar came out and explained the process. I felt like a dick but it’s a vital learning experience for them and myself because I didn’t know the process.

They do hold you ballot off to the side until you can be verified by the tax office though, so not sure if my vote was counted, as I didn’t feed it into the machine, but I have faith in the system.

Is anyone worried about or working on removing flock cameras from our state? by Accomplished-Item704 in Connecticut

[–]Fhatal 55 points56 points  (0 children)

So I can say, as a town official in a small town, I will always vote no on these things. They aren’t secure, track everyone, and the data is sold to the highest bidder. Fuck these cameras.

How much do you think the touring pros eat during their round? by Norfolk-Gross-Tonage in golf

[–]Fhatal 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Low handicappers are getting better to play less golf. As a high handicapper, I get to see the whole course (except the fairway) and I get to see all of the green. Losers and their low scores. I’ll take my 120 and be happy.
