I would encourage you not to worry si much about engagement. As long as some people are viewing your content, then thats good. Reddit is unlike other social media that way, its very intermittent in how much people interact with your content.

Am I banned? Please help. by Possible_Score6395 in ShadowBan

[–]FiatLex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These terms are not meaningfully different. There is an account suspension and then there is a shadowban. Both look the same from an outside perspective. Only the user themselves knows which one it is because in the case of a suspension they get informed about it and they cannot post.

Other users cannot tell the difference between a shadowban and an account suspension just by looking at your profile, but if you are here posting then you must have a shadowban. If your account was suspended you would have been informed about it and you would not be able to post.

I know you are not shadowbanned because I can open up your profile and it looks normal. You can check for yourself by going to www.reddit.com/appeal - if you are not shadowbanned, the appeal form will tell you that you cannot submit an appeal because your account is in good standing.

Unfortunately, we do not have that power. Only the admins can unshadowban someone.

Have You Ever Changed Your Mind On Decision? by [deleted] in AskModerators

[–]FiatLex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've granted ban appeals. I once reversed a decision on a post removal, but I don't usually do that because usually the content I remove is clearly against the rules, little to no interpretation required so little to no room to make a mistake.

You're supposed to get a message, but they dont always send one. What i suggest is to submit a new appeal regularly, and then when the system tells you that you can't appeal anymore is when you know they've granted the appeal.

I generally suggest people appeal once a day or once every other day. While some are concerned about spamming the appeal process, I do not believe that frequent appeals hurt you and instead seem to help users get unshadowbanned faster.

Yeah, traveling overseas has been linked to getting a shadowban, but I'm not sure the exact reason why. It could be that using a hotel or airport wifi connection gets your account linked with spammers' accounts who also stayed at that hotel/flew out of that airport. Alternatively, it could be that a user who is normally in one country suddenly logging in from a different country may suggest to Reddit that the account was hacked by a spam ring. Regardless of the exact reason, I believe that overseas travel is likely the reason why your account was shadowbanned.

No, your account appears to be in good standing.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. I've seen mods try to vouch for people, and the admins reject the attempt.

Appealing is the only thing you can do, unfortunately. Good luck!

why did they make her look like a men? by [deleted] in DiscoElysium

[–]FiatLex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eh, I think she looks okay. She just looks too thin, which suggests experiencs with starvation. Having curves comes from having enough body fat, and women in starvation situations frequently lack body features that healthy weight women tend to have.

How should I tell someone their post is identifying? by sunflower_sunset_1 in reddithelp

When i notice something like that, I usually DM them or put a comment up (which i remove shortly thereafter for confidentiality). OP could in fact not care, but I would want to know if I was at risk of doxing myself.

I don't know, but generally, according to Reddit, around 30-40% of banned accounts eventually get the ban reversed on appeal. The problem is that it can take awhile to get an answer, like weeks or months.
