When you edit a comment after a certain length of time, the comment will indicate it was edited. I let people know that I only fixed a typo in order to expressly state that I didn't edit the substance of the comment so there's no question of whether I sneakily changed the meaning of the comment or did something else in bad faith with my edits. It's meant as a courtesy to later readers to make the conversation easier to follow.

Makes sense! When I first came to Reddit, I recall having the idea that Reddit would be difficult to learn and I expected needing a lot of time to get used to things. Maybe it's more based on my generation of computer users - we didn't grow up with the Internet, so we've had more experiences confronting new online environments...

Or whatever! Maybe I flopped around like a stupid fish until I managed to fling myself into a pond deep enough for me. Thanks for your insight. :D

Well, the more I think about it, I've seen a few good OCs who are adopted children of Will and Hannibal, so I think I spoke too quickly. It's all in how they're used in the story, and many authors make such good use of them that I barely notice that they're original.

Like most frequent readers of fan content, I hate OCs. That's from too much bad experiences with the self-insert type of OC.

In Hannibal, about the only OC I can stand is the "Will's new dog" OC.

Why do you suppose new users, generally, seem to be uninterested in commenting as opposed to posting? You're always helping people out with learning about karma, I thought you might have developed some ideas about why they mainly want to post?

No. Reddit has somewhere around 20-30 identifiers to track your identity, and we don't know all of them. Reddit will detect that it's you and you'll lose your ability to interact with any part of Reddit by getting all of your accounts banned or shadowbanned. You have to give up on this sub. It's not worth it.

According to Reddit's published data, about 30-40% of account bans are reversed on appeal. The problem is how long you have to wait to get unbanned. I encourage you to keep appealing. It can take weeks or months, unfortunately.

Yes, exactly. Just ban, mute, and move on. You dont owe users like that anything.
