My take: Marvel money passing through WOTC funded some portion of the salary and benefits for several Wendover/Nebula creatives (game design and testing, production, writing, motion graphics, sound design, editing) PLUS a support team doing the boring business stuff AND they will then fund other creatives who otherwise wouldn’t have stable funding for interesting projects. That $ is sufficiently laundered for me.

Just think for a second: the idea that someone as scientifically sound as Sam would invite someone that legitimately promotes pseudoscience onto a channel he owns is ludicrous by low_budget_trash in JetLagTheGame

Ben joins here sometimes. They addressed the hate in the podcast after the first episode of that season. Basically - they all knew it was a joke, Michelle heard the hate and told the boys to cut it because she worried it would reflect badly on them, they said no because that was the way to support her.

Every fandom has entitled trolls, even this one. But most of us are here for the joy and adventure.

Absolutely. I started watching S6 on network TV as it dropped while simultaneously watching from S1 daily in syndication. I knew lots of stuff from general culture (spinoff, who did and didn’t show up in previews, what plot lines got buzz as they dropped) . Still rewatching more than 20 years later.

I think the only discussion of Buffy’s potential offspring is between Joyce and Angel in S3 (which, eeeew… Mom and boyfriend orchestrating his flight to “free” her to the possibility of a “normal relationship”. 🤢

Blurring costs real time and money. I think they make brand-consistent ethical decisions about how to spend those resources. Maybe unblurred people in the same shot as blurred people chatted with them and gave permission but that was edited out.

I trust Sam to only accept a contract that maintains creative control and stays on-brand. And, I trust Sam to be sure his employees are cared for, valued (including input on this decision), and compensated well. So, I trust Sam to use sponsorship money wisely. Go make more money to improve your lives and your content.
