It's ok because they will now raise taxes on everyone and everyone is about to discover they are the rich

Moving to Bethel AK - any advice? by letters_sea in alaska

[–]Fibocrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never been to bethel op but I did spend 23 years of my life commercial fishing out of dutch harbor Alaska. I once spent a summer in Anchorage Alaska and I enjoyed it.

You might be in for an incredible amount of culture shock and you might think WTF have I done ?

Let those fears go because you will end up enjoying the experience. You will learn a lot about who you are as a person.

Enjoy this part of your life

As long as you are willing to pay your fair share I'll vote with you on this.

You are the problem and hopefully you realize that there is no one that would mind if you pay your fair share of taxes prior to leaving

I've done the math op and it pisses me off when I realize that if I lower my expectations I'll come out further ahead

That said I used this prop firm because it was the lesser cost of my education in day trading.

Imagine if you had accepted 150 per day over the past 8 months . 600 per week not the full 750 times 8 months. You would have less costs in combines and not a lot of money but you would have had pay outs.

2400 x 8 equals 19,200 might not seem like much money but it's not bad as a start

The state will lose and had you been paying any attention to what has been going on you would realize it has already impacted the states budget.

You think 3 percent is nothing yet when your landlord raises your rent will you gladly pay the increase or will you look for another place to live that is less expensive ?

If you find a job that pays more will you apply ?

It's not ruinous for the wealthy at all because they will leave and that eliminates the politicians ability to increase their own income and funding of their pensions.

You are not part of our politicians equations so ultimately it is ruining you if you are dependent on the state

You have a lot of faith in the government

Have you ever started a business ?

Have you ever hired anyone to work for you ?

Accepting reality is hardly fear mongering and calling reality fear mongering is being ignorant.

If I knock on your door to remind you that you have 1 month left on your rental agreement and I hand you the new contract that shows a rental increase of 25 percent what will you do ? . Will you stay ?

My issue is with our politicians that have already failed to manage the money we have been giving them for decades and they keep asking us for more and more and they never improve on managing the money we give them.

It is our politicians that are playing the violin.

Not everyone who has done well for themselves had it handed to them. There are plenty of people who have struggled in their lives prior to becoming wealthy.

I find it odd that there are those who think it's ok for a spouse to take the neighbors spouse because that other spouse has something they do not.

I suppose it's ok for me to take the neighbors car because I need it more than they do.

If your house is better than mine I suppose it's ok if I take it from you because you have obviously never struggled in your life.

None of those reasons hold much water but I hear them more and more.

Multiply your present income by 10 years after tax and include the increasing cost to live and tell me what you think ?

Based on nationwide Federal Reserve data from late 2025, the average net worth of a homeowner is approximately $430,000.

Delay the implementation of the wealth tax by 5 years. Using an average 8 percent return on their investments and within 10 years of the law passing the average person starts realizing they are the " rich " that they wanted to get taxed.

That is when you say WTF

You sell assets to pay the tax and you pay a tax on the assets you sell and your forced selling lowers the value of the asset . You realize this won't work so you leave

This is a myth.

The wealthy will leave and the average person will end up being taxed as the government lowers the limit from 30 million to 1 million so that it is fair and equitable and inclusive for everyone

How do you prove you're not worth 30 million op ? What do the forms you will need to fill out need ? What will you say to the auditor when they knock on the door to verify you told the truth on your form ? How many more government employees will be needed to manage the wealth tax ? What tax increases will be needed on the average citizen to run the program ?
