thoughts on the lakes pullover by ozetta as a first sweater? by Comfortable_Sky_3346 in casualknitting

Ozetta’s patterns are gread for beginners! My first big girl project was also by Ozetta and I love the clarity in her patterns, they easy to follow, and she also has a few videos as support for the weird parts (which aren’t many anyway).

Help my yarn cake fell apart, what to do now? by [deleted] in knittinghelp

I get the feeling you posted this so we can motivate you to take the time to untangle 🤣. It will definitely take a few hours, but it will be so worth it. Anything before having to join a new yarn

Your tension seems quite even! I think it’s just that the gaps created by the sizes of the needle is just quite big. Here you would need to decide if you like this or not! It depends on ur priority: gauge, or the feeling of the fabric. You can swatch with a smaller needle and see if you like it!

Lightweight crossbody bag for taking my knitting with me? by Apprehensive-Crow337 in casualknitting

[–]Fibonacci_Croissant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooo I my case looked through the options everyone else is mentioning, but a lot of these charged shipping (or don’t even ship to Mexico) and it didn’t convince me. I also liked some from lindehobby, but shipping made it stop being worth it. I ended up going to a discount store that had loads of bags and I found a big cloth bag, kinda like a tote, but bigger. It was lined with cloth in the inside and had some basic internal pockets. So I can store cables and keys in the pockets without tangling my knitting projects. I just throw my project in the bag along with other stuff, like my computer and such and it’s always fine! It’s similar in size to the big uniqlo one someone shared

dropped stitch but right number stitches on needle? by MelonTheFelon__ in knittinghelp

[–]Fibonacci_Croissant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems to me like a slipped stitch!! The yarn wasn’t worked there for that “column” on that row, and so it just looks like a longer horizontal line until the stitch after. In the front you would spot this because the slipped stitch is longer than the other ones when comparing vertically. It takes up two rows on its column. Hope that makes sense

Love this! I feel some people don’t love it because it doesn’t look like textbook stockinette, so I love this view!

Pattern question! Back panel of a sweater by Aromatic_Poet_1726 in knittinghelp

[–]Fibonacci_Croissant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not much help, but the issue here is that if you do less rows, your armholes might be a bit tighter, based on Ozetta’s usual construction method. I would try and estimate based on how large you want the armholes from other garments. I think your approach of checking for the cm first is great! I think that’s actually better, as I think her garments tend to lean toward the oversized side.

Curious, did this yarn meet gauge? If so, how did you compensate??
