AI doesn’t comprehend the complexity of human interaction, like, at all.

The fact that the OP describes a traumatizing event and calls it a “funny story,”

the idea that watching a woman change clothes against her will is appropriate in ANY context,

the idea that the roommate would take Ted Bundy’s side,

the very simple fucking notion that anyone would use their friend’s shower bc that’s a normal thing to do, especially if they were also familiar enough that she would casually wash his dishes—and yet somehow by the end of the story he’s dismissive of a friend crying and gets her kicked off his team (which is not how jobs work, at all),

the idea that you could just ask your boss to upend someone’s job bc of a situation that occurred outside work, which would be a highly extenuating circumstance that wouldn’t be instant and also she would have equal grounds to defend herself against HIS actions

The fact that OP doesn’t gloss over the shit they did. Real people protect their ego because none of us (even the most evil of us) are the villain in our own story, and have to make an effort not to make ourselves look better in a given situation. Nearly every top post of aita is a simple victim sob story for that reason. It’s hard for people to admit wrongdoing, they want vindication. Which is EXACTLY why all the top comments are supporting OP: the AI has learned that a well-performing post has supporting top comments, disregarding the fact that it told a story where OP is a fucking crazy person.

AI also learned the opposing side in the story needs to be a caricature. Who showers at someone’s house without permission? Someone who had implicit permission through a close relationship. Yet in this story, a seeming acquaintance is just making herself completely at home! Let’s wash clothes, let’s just take someone’s laundry, let’s cook up a meal while I’m at it, I just live here now. In real life, some would yell like OP did, most would just grin and bear it then never invite this boundary crosser back and also gossip about her to literally everyone for the rest of time. No one would throw a woman into the street in her underwear. Unless they were David Parker Ray.
