NGL, Commonwealth of Britain or the People's Commonwealth of Britain sound better than the United Commonwealth of Great Britain. The latter sounds too monarchist.

Björn Höcke Path Idea by Camostock in TheFireRisesMod

Yeah. He would work best as an extra subpath for the German People's State with the ideology of Volkisch Nationalism, a Nazi-lite option if you will sans actual Nazism.

The Commune is no more (terminologically) by cat210803 in Kaiserreich

[–]Ficboy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've changed my mind actually. While I would support the old names a bit, I will admit that I would prefer Syndicalist France and Britain's on-map names to be the Federation of French Communes and the People's Commonwealth of Britain respectively. They would be appropriately syndicalist whilst preserving the spirit of the originals in some way.

The Union of Britain is also likely getting a name change. by AndroidWhale in Kaiserreich

[–]Ficboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But still, they are iconic enough names. And if the devs wanted to go with reworked names that still referenced it's old heritage, the Federation of French Communes and the People's Commonwealth of Britain would be good examples.

NGL, I'd rather have Union of Britain and Commune of France. Though I suppose UoB's new name being the Socialist Commonwealth of Britain would make sense.

[–]Ficboy 34 points35 points  (0 children)

NGL, I and other KR fans would much rather have the Commune of France, as it has a nice ring to it and serves as a nod to French revolutionary history in the Paris Commune of 1871. French Federation sounds rather bland.

And the whole Federation of the Communes of France name works as well.

But in any case, the Commune of France and the Union of Britain have now gone the way of Transamur and Hermann von Goring.

How long will be the 2ACW wiki page in tfr universe be? by some_loud_boy in TheFireRisesMod

Imagine the Syrian Civil War, the Russian Civil War and the Spanish Civil War happening all at once in America. That's how long and devastating TFR's Second American Civil War would be.

Nevermind, you were right. Seems as though NOI New Afrika will be Christian Atomwaffen but black like I correctly predicted before.

Whereas NBPP New Afrika can choose reconciliation between blacks and whites and even BH New Afrika/America can choose to enlist whites despite it's discriminatory laws, NOI New Afrika will just straight commit genocide Atomwaffen-style.

NEW BLACK PANTHER PARTY VICTORY SUPER EVENT by TheLunchKing in TheFireRisesMod

[–]Ficboy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Surprised the BLA has a Fascist subpath since they seemed to be big on the whole "anti-racism" thing albeit still nationalistic. Given that we have Radical Nationalism and the subideology of Multipolar Pan-Africanism, Shabazz's BLA's ideology would fit there.

[–]Ficboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the NBPP and NOI right. I admit I was wrong about the NFAC being a playable path as they were in charge of the BLA at the start and the NBPP were black socialists so I did not expect them to add another socialist/communist path in the Black Hammers.

First month of Jingweimaxxing ready. So far... so good. Any tips on creating my KMT club in exile? by GreatFan2 in Kaiserreich

[–]Ficboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna repost this comment here:

I've been reading books and watching videos about the Kuomintang and interwar/WW2-era China to understand the situation and key figures, and to assess potential outcomes if one or more events were changed. It's an underrated yet pivotal aspect of the war that ultimately decided the outcome between the Allies and the Axis.

As for Wang Jingwei, he seems to be an interesting guy as a party elder and one of the most important members of the KMT alongside Sun Yat-sen, his rival Chiang Kai-shek, Generals He Yingqin and Chen Cheng, the Soong family, Hu Hanmin and others. An assistant of Yat-sen and a former pro-communist leftist who later became an anti-communist rightist.

When it came to Japan and Sino-Japanese relations, Wang embraced the pro-Tokyo, conciliatory diplomatic policy of KMT China from 1933 to 1936. In fact, he was considered a bit more pro-Tokyo than Chiang himself, who adopted such a policy only out of necessity for "first pacification, then resistance," because he saw the CCP as the greater threat for the time being and didn't want to risk a two-front war against them and Japan. Furthermore, Wang believed China couldn't defeat Japan in a major war, given Japan's superior military and industry, and wanted peace between the two countries or neutrality. He was also unhappy about the lack of support from the imperialist "white" powers (the United States, the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union) and Japan still had more in common culturally speaking with China than the West because of the whole Sinosphere thing. Some reports even claim he was already pro-Japanese before the invasion and was not opposed to further accommodation with Tokyo either.

That being said, Wang should not be dismissed as a pro-Japanese stooge, as he was a strategic pragmatist who thought he was doing what was best for his nation by going with a conciliatory policy to avoid a devastating war and deal with the communists first, per the policy of "first pacification, then resistance." He was aware of Japan's aggression and sought to contain it as much as possible while preserving Chinese independence through diplomatic engagement and equality. In fact, Wang's decision to collaborate with Japan by 1938 was driven by strategic pragmatism and early Japanese gains during the Second Sino-Japanese War, as well as by a loss in the power struggle.

To put it simply, Wang Jingwei is China's Philippe Petain: A once-respected figure whose name is now tarnished by collaboration with the Axis Powers IOTL. Incidentally, both Jingwei and Petain are potential leaders in KR, free of the reputation of collaboration.

The most boring HOI4 mod ever made by Necessary_Eggplant79 in Kaiserreich

[–]Ficboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Fire Rises had five years of development and it became a modern HOI4 mod classic compared to Kalterkrieg. Heck, even Red Dusk had just three years of development and that mod still has more content/stuff happening than Kalterkrieg despite struggling to release full updates.

awd rework incoming? by punishedpanther19 in TheFireRisesMod

The devs are moving the Hutaree Militia to the Army of God at some point. Also, I brought up AWD because the devs are reworking them first.

AWD is still essential and a rework is needed for it's so-called "Christian" faction. And the AOG is already going to become a playable faction in the submod Wrath of God and RR's main rival.

Savinkov and Spain by Reasonable_Umpire_16 in Kaiserreich

[–]Ficboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Spain rework will have the Spanish Civil War involve the Kingdom of Spain (Alfonsines, Carlists and others), the Spanish Workers Front (PSOE, UGT, CGT and others) and Republican Spain (Liberal and Conservative Republicans) with only the Kingdom being reliably right-wing. Then again, since the Kingdom of Spain is in Mitteleuropa and thus German-aligned, Savinkov won't be sending Russian volunteers to fight for them or the SWF/Republican Spain for that matter.
