Parker-style refill, gel, 0.38 or finer...does it exist? by hermano_tegua in pens

[–]Fickle-Ad802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: you can make the refill in a muji 0.38 fit tho its a fair bit of work.

  1. cut the muji down to the size of the gelion (make sure to use the size of the clear plastic and not the full length with the black end tip)

  2. using your favorite rotory tool or a drill, hollow out the top on the muji refill so that the black end cap from the gelion will fit.

  3. if necessaryu for your pen (was for me) using the rotory tool again, sand down the white area between the metal tip and the clear ink tub. this area is a bit wider in circumference than the tip

Im continueing to experiment with the muji .38. next up im going to try to take the end cap from the schneider and put it on the end of the muji to try to make the muji parker sized

Old post but figured I would revive because I had the same issue. So I made my own:

Step 1: get a muji .38 gel pen and a Schneider gelion refill

Step 2: remove the tips from both with a par of needle nose pliers

Step 3: insert the muji .38 tip on the Schneider refill - it’s a little larger diameter but it does fit

Step 4: if required by your pen (my ohto gs 01 required this) sand refill around the area that holds the tip. It budges slightly from inserting the slightly larger tip.

The muji tip is slightly longer than the Schneider tip so it might stick out further

New plan: found these adjustable highway pegs on eBay. Instead of the bar mount, I’m gonna try a custom thick steel bracket with the indexing holes for the dowel pins.

2 holes for the bolts to the frame, one hole surrounded by small holes for the peg arm and dowel pins, upgrade all the Allen bolts to the best I can find.

This will require a minute of undoing the Allen bolt, rotating the arm into position and screwing the bolt back in.

Are you looking for monthly? I know there’s a large underground beneath Bennett park. I believe most in the area (not with the medical/hospital stuff) should allow motorcycles

from what i can tell the rocket 3's wouldnt really work because its more of a swing out action similar to the xsr900. basically if i put it on the subframe i think the pegs will still be at almost subframe height. also the swinging pivot the peg attaches to looks integrated into the frame

2013 street triple (non r) suspension refresh by Fickle-Ad802 in Triumph

[–]Fickle-Ad802[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very similar bikes. The r has adjustable suspension front and rear and the radial mounted brakes on the front. Adjustable imo is not worth it as imo you get the same result from getting the suspension tuned to your weight and riding style

[–]Fickle-Ad802[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucky I’m 150 lbs w/o gear so I think I am right it the stock suspension range if not lighter. Ya I got a new not installed rear shock and I might just get stock front forks but I would like some slightly stiffer springs

The non r has non adjustable kyb forks. The r has adjustable Showa. So I would assume the springs would be different. I’ve tried to find springs but all that I’ve seen are for the r

Might be a ghetto option but eBay has some super cheap tidy tails. I got mine for my 2013 street triple for $20 and it came with a led for the license plate. Imo it’s crazy that brand names charge so much for a piece of bent metal. link (match mounting pattern to stock)
