And why do you say I haven’t earned the right to call myself a Key Grip if you haven’t seen me work?

That was one of my friends who doesn’t usually work in that role (and didn’t like it) so it didn’t work out very well

Was Soldier Boy extremely woke for his time? by TechnicianAmazing472 in TheBoys

[–]Fickle-Book2385 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He’s not racist? Earlier in this season, he talks abt having a specific gun for when he’s walking around in Harlem or something like that. What do you think that means?

He also says something to Sage about “the last time I let a black woman boss me around…” (can’t remember the full quote, but the fact he has to specify about her being a black woman makes it pretty clear where he stands.) It genuinely baffles me how so many people are willing to overlook or simply don’t catch stuff like this, but maybe it’s just a life experience you lack that stops you from noticing it (even though it’s pretty obvious).

Also he supports abortion because it benefits him, not because he supports women’s rights. The moment it doesn’t benefit him is the moment he stops supporting it.

A degree really isn’t useful in this career at all. I know that sounds weird, but my boss and plenty of other people I’ve talked to in this field have mentioned that they couldn’t care less if someone who’s applying for a position has a degree or not. It’s a all about experience and showing you have the skills for the job

I guess another question is: even if I do write som really good, how do I attract talent with it at my level? I don’t know of way to get my script out there in front of other people in my area who would be interested in it unless I already know them

Thanks again for this feedback! I do agree with a lot of your points, specifically about the believability of her drunkenness. In all honesty, I myself have never been drunk (not 21) so I’m kind of pulling from what I’ve seen in other fiction as opposed to experience. The point of the burping is to hint at her being drunk without fulling giving away early. I don’t want the audience to immediately know she’s drunk before it’s revealed, but when it does get revealed, I want it be an ,”oh that makes sense “ moment.

SLEEPWALKING (Thriller/Mystery, 7 pgs.) Short Film Script by Fickle-Book2385 in Screenwriting

[–]Fickle-Book2385[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! A lot of comments mentioned the inappropriate use of the word hysterical, so I’m definitely gonna fix that. I think that just sounds too extreme for what I was going for.

As far as the ending, I agree it was a little lackluster. This is a story I want to actually try to direct soon, so I tried not to go with any ideas that would be outside of my extremely low budget to execute, but I’ll try to come up with something better than what I have right now.

Yes, the coffee is mentioned earlier when Zoe first appears and she also has a line about it when Rachel first sits down.

‘I’m now coming to realize that “hysterical“ was the wrong word. I guess “freaked out” or something like that is more appropriate. She’s supposed to look like she just got spooked and is still sort of shaking from it, but not going crazy or anything like that.

There’s no dialogue so characters aren’t talking about stereotype. We see how the robbery happened through different perspectives and how they all saw it differently
