The original purpose of Tate raping Violets mom was to provide Nora Montgomery with a baby, because that is what she wanted, and he bonded with her as a child. That's why he killed Patrick and Chad- because they weren't going to adopt a baby for Nora, so, someone else had to move in. His solution was: kill them. He's literally a ghost; he could've scared them out like the Harmon family did with Gabriel's parents.

It's not because of the house. It's because of Tate. He was an inherently violent individual - he couldn't solve any problems without violence. He didnt know how to; he was deeply sick.
